Great positive story in the real world that began in Destiny

I don't like posting to forums but I felt this was too good not to share. I live in SC and if you didn't know we recently suffered tremendous flooding resulting in quite a bit of damage and loss of life. One of my friends is a first responder in the area that was most affected by the flooding. In speaking with him he told me the ways they were struggling with some of the issues that come with flooding. We mobilized our efforts and began collecting water, food, and other essentials. One of the major issues he discussed with me, while strange, was foot issues. Wading through water trying to rescue people from their homes and vehicles yielded a number of foot related issues for rescuers. That night during a particularly rewarding dismantling of Oryx I was discussing these issues. One of the gentlemen I was playing with chimed in and said he was a wholesaler of clothing items and he would be happy to donate socks if that would help. I contacted my friend and said it was exactly what they needed, but told me they had about 700 people in the field at any given time. I reported this to my fireteam member (I am intentionally leaving him nameless in case he doesn't want his name out there). He was completely unaffected by the size of this number and promptly sent me 1200 pairs of socks to help the efforts. I don't know this man personally, although I've gamed with him frequently, but he jumped to the aid of someone else in need. This humanitarianism, born in Destiny, helps restore my faith in humanity and makes me appreciate the community that has formed here, especially the niche of phenomenal people I play with on a daily basis. If anyone from Bungie reads this I would like to buy my friend a virtual beer (or at least the Carlton) please help me thank him for his kindness.
