Halo ODST sucks!
Just bought my pre-ordered copy of ODST tonight. Picked it up at 12:22 am and quickly drove it home to play. Already had friends lined up to do 4 player co-op. $60.00 for 3 new multiplayer maps that will be free in another 2 months, and a 5 hour campaign... That doesn't sound good I thought, but then this is Halo and we have all of the previous titles and loved each one. That list includes Halo Wars... Therefore I thought that this one has to be good. Long story short, the 4 of us all agreed that this is a terrible game which is chock full of shortcuts and unpolished hogwash. I plan to take my copy back to the store when it opens for my money back! Bungie - This is not worth $60.00 - not even close. This is a crappy game and that is coming from a Halo-fanboy. You guys lost a customer tonight. I won't buy another one of your titles. I am extremely disappointed by this game.

i think people are forgetting bungie only had a year to make and perfect this. As for the campaign being to short, i dont think so...if you can complete it in 5 hours then you are playin it far too much. Firefight is completely different to hoarde...i dont see skulls or bonus rounds on hoarde.

That's the first thing I thought. IMO Campaign is what you make of it. I played through Campaign (on Normal) as I wanted to explore the city and collect the audio logs (which I have to finish collecting as got to excited and rushed a portion of the game). The Campaign is brilliant and so many things to find and the story is top notch, playing it again today on Legendry. So how anyone can tear into this game saying it is rubbish without a solid good reason is beyond me. Firefight is in my opinion the best survial game ever made, one game yesterday lasted over two hours and it was nothing short of epic. I can understand reservations especially the guys and gals from United States and Canada because of the price, but I think Firefight is worth the price alone. If you don't like the game fair enough but at least have somthing constructive to say why.

I agree with the Hobbit. The Campaign was awesome. Loved the glimpses of story and the dark and brooding feeling you get walking around New Mombasa as if someone is watching you. Creepy and very enticing. Firefight: Please, can some regulars add my gamertag for Firefight? I haven't experianced it to it's fullest yet because I only recently got Xbox Live. I have the feeling I've been screwed over a little, £30 for a 6 hour campaign with hardly anything new. Firefight mode is all good but all the maps have come from the campaign, gives me a feeling that it's all copy and paste. Not mentioning I bought every Halo 3 map so it seems like I've purchased them twice. I'm still going to enjoy the game, probably spent £30 on worse games in the past, but still didn't expect this from Bungie (Halo). I would like to have seen more content, weapons, vehicles ect. Alright, you've stated your opinion, OP, tomorrow go take back the game and do whatever pleases you. Bungie can't make a game that everyone loves, but they aim to please the general public. As for the $60 price, they have no control over that, Microsoft does. This game feels like Halo 1, which makes me happy as hell, so it's in my gaming cabnet...unlike Halo Wars which just sits on the ground. You and your friends can do whatever the hell you guys want, but a LOT of people love this game and your opinion isn't going to change their minds. BTW: Firefight wasn't ripped off from Gears of War 2, check your history before you start typing next time.

That's a constructive arguement but lookk at COD4 and COD5 campaign just over 5 hours tops, okay they had the multiplayer, but so does this. COD 4 released 1 map pack, this has over 20 maps, yes you paid for the map packs I did but like you I only paid £30 and that price alone was vindicated with Firefight.

quite funny, how there's so many bungie biased fans here.. if bungie kicked them in the nuts they'd smile and give a thumbs up don't you see the true fans getting knackered here.. basically if they want to keep enjoying the Halo 3 multiplayer and for them to get the 3 latest Mythic maps, they are FORCED to buy ODST because they'll not be available as DLC basically they pay twice for all maps (3 other mappacks priced at 800MSP), plus now 60 euro for thesame maps and ODST pretty good strategy from bungie nonetheless.. but i'm getting sick of corporate business trying to grab every penny from our pocket, and this is the way it goes don't get me wrong ODST is a great game, and considering i never bought DLC for Halo 3 , i'm fine with the maps seperate on disc.. it got me going in Halo 3 again, since i couldn't play multiplayer with just the Halo 3 disc, it's annoying to play MP if you don't have all maps (yet again another great strategy , buy the game for 60 euro and don't get access to full multiplayer but force the user to buy all maps to fully enjoy multiplayer) If anything Firefight was imitated from L4D survival mode.. it's not like it's an original game mode [Edited on 09.23.2009 12:32 AM PDT]

Stoner agree with you assumption of Firefight, yes Bungie has taken ideas from Left 4 Dead, Gears 2 Horde and others but they have given it a Halo look and added to it and have come away with the best version of a survival mode yet. Oh and smug I play a game for everymode, hence why I didn't touch Firefight untill I had completed Campaign, as to be honest Campaign was the main reason I got the game because of the change in direction. I'm afraid I'm going to have to disagree with you OP. £35 pounds for arguably the best Halo SP experience to date, all the Halo 3 DLC (which I didn't have) and the best Invasion gameplay variant that it has ever been my pleasure to experience is a great deal in my opinion. Hell if Firefight had some more maps, player models, access to the full Halo 3 sandbox and some sort of class based character progression I would pay full price for it alone. Great job Bungie. EDIT: For the record Gears of War 2 wasn't the first game to include Horde mode. [Edited on 09.23.2009 12:41 AM PDT]

Listen, I actually TRIED to think bad of ODST, but I'm amazed!! The campaign is absolutely longer, since the so much more enemies to deal with compared to original MC campaign. Also playing on Legendary, the game is REALLY hard. Same with Firefight. That can keep you occupied for ages. The game is AWESOME. And you can take this from one of the fiercest Halo3 critics around! :)

Listen all y0ou fools thinking the campaign is too short: the game is meant to be played on Heroic or Legendary. All you guys who handled original campaign on Heroic with no big hassles, should go Legendary ODST, all you wh couldn't can try Heroic instead. This is where the game really shines.
