Halo ODST sucks!
Just bought my pre-ordered copy of ODST tonight. Picked it up at 12:22 am and quickly drove it home to play. Already had friends lined up to do 4 player co-op. $60.00 for 3 new multiplayer maps that will be free in another 2 months, and a 5 hour campaign... That doesn't sound good I thought, but then this is Halo and we have all of the previous titles and loved each one. That list includes Halo Wars... Therefore I thought that this one has to be good. Long story short, the 4 of us all agreed that this is a terrible game which is chock full of shortcuts and unpolished hogwash. I plan to take my copy back to the store when it opens for my money back! Bungie - This is not worth $60.00 - not even close. This is a crappy game and that is coming from a Halo-fanboy. You guys lost a customer tonight. I won't buy another one of your titles. I am extremely disappointed by this game.

I have only [i]just[/i] finished Dutch's second mission. I have spent more time in Firefight and plenty just taking in the city... It is truely marvelous when you look at it from an artist's perspective. Lol fail quote. >.> [Edited on 09.22.2009 3:29 AM PDT]

I was merely trying to save people money and I knew that Bungie would see my comments. I will continue Blog elsewhere about this crappy game in hopes that Bungie will do better next time. This is certainly not worthy of the fanfare and praise that I have given them in the past.

i only agree that it should be less for what it is, its still an expansion, not a full game, but it is amazing, firefight is epic and hte campaign is gears style, in that its full of action but short. the vidmasters will prove very challenging though i got it a little early from the game shop i work for, and got brainpan within 10 minutes though, easy as pie

Shortcuts are only there if you take them, its your choice, your game, noone is racing you too the finish. And where is the unpolishedness in ODST?

Look. I am sure Bungie loves you very much. They love all of us. But they cant make something that EVERYONE likes. Think of the good things about ODST. And if there isn't anything good then why spend your time on the game forum since its obviously so valuable like your money you used to get ODST. Its meant to have fun on. Just get your friends and try to have fun.

Its not an expansion. Its a full game when you include the Halo 3 multiplayer. Just because you already have the halo 3 multiplayer doesn't mean its not there. I agree that they should have had a Full version, and an ODST only with no halo 3 multiplayer version.

i am loving the new over-the-shoulder heavy turret camera, it helps aiming sooo much, the vehicles are faster and more reponsive too however, the health system is terrible, i died a few times without realising i was being hit, VISR softenens the red glow so you think you have more stamina, then all of a sudden your health is taking hits and theres only a really quiet beeping noise to tell you, not much use in a fight when you cant bloody hear it!

The AI enemy characters are consistently stupid, oftentimes running into walls while driving vehicles. Night vision on your goggles puts an annoying outline on everything. This I believe is an attempt to hide the fact that Bungie did nothing to improve the graphics in this game over Halo 3. Additionally they didn't do enough work on the design of enemies. Everything either looks too dark, or has an outline with the middle completely dark, or is ultra shiny. The Supervisor guy is hard to navigate while in menus and I found myself stuck more than a couple of times, just trying to get my visor to be clear again. Shall I add more?

although I agree with you on some points I'm not 100% disgusted with it and I see allot of replay value in firefight drunk with a few friends.
