Leaving after years of defending the game, feeling ignored and frustrated like many who've tried to help the game grow.

I don't need to do much to prove I played at a high level or whatever. I got the year one triumphs medal, there you go. And I had the iron banner cape back when it looked good, before it was thrown out. And that's really it. I kept telling people "stop complaining about PVP and just play story" but then their wasn't so much more story, and we all know Prison of Elders was a worse version of halo reach firefight, where you stand and let waves of enemies hit you. But that was a toy or a sandbox in halo, here it was basically an entire release... And I said "this new raid sniper is actually really good, maybe even as good as icebreaker" but ggguuuuuueeeeesss what. I liked icebreaker.... yeah it grew ammo, it was supposed to be a pve gun... wait so does invective and people use it in pvp. Weren't we supposed to be able to level up purely off the story, by ourselves, no raid or crucible? Oh yeah exotics every few months drop for something you dont need and you can infuse and......... these are all patches. Stop mixing PVP and PVE and you'll help your game a hell of a lot, even having special "crucible guns" wouldnt be terrible, seriously, it's not like you are testing out your new guns damage points in the middle of iron banner.. Anyway, the amount of money I've put in, the amount of time I've put in, and the arguments I've had for you.... None of it is enough to keep me playing. I don't feel identified as my own character or as a guardian, I certainly don't feel like I can become legend while everything is made obsolete for people in PVP to stop complaining then for PVE then repeat. I'm really good at crucible, cut my teeth in COD so I'm even better than your game play and servers in this game. Just because I'm good doesn't mean I wanted it. And what is there for anyone who doesn't like clans, who wanted to play a story mode with a few friends out of state... I can't find anything good to say about where this game has gone, and I loved it. I waited over a year to play the beta. I'm good at it, it's not like that is the problem. I've even brushed off always being ignored on here, despite surveys and beta testing, when I write something in the help section. But I don't feel like I matter in this world growing, despite beta testing and submitting the "help development" survey or whatever it was. Worse yet: I'm not having fun. And this was sold as a "game". But anyway, you've really really burned a lot of people who LOVED the game and defended it. And I just don't have the energy to play and wait for things to be fixed, while you continuously release more fractured crap of you whole promises. Call me the final year, I may rent Destiny again then. Oh and this isn't to prove anything to anyone, like I said I'm plenty skilled at this game. This is just me sort of forcing an exit interview onto a company I used to support, a company that has enough money to know lost customers are not a good thing. I expect no feedback, there never was any before (despite them saying we are a community and they want us to communicate). Plainly put: Bungie really did screw up a sold product, and a lot of savvy gamers tried to support, help, and warn.. Now this is goodbye, from me and many more who simply forgot their Bungie.net account and walked away from your company indefinitely. I thought at least I owed you this, despite my certainty it will be ignored. And Bungie, let's not bother pretending we'll still be friends. I'm just taking my stuff and leaving now.

  • Amen Brother! I can only reiterate all you have said. I've been in it since day one too and have worked for all the prizes. I liked putting the effort in to getting weapons that were exclusive that no one else had, but could get. My frustrations are every time someone complained about not having a bad ass gun, Bungie nerfed it and they nerfed many times making it not fun to fight. "Squeaky wheel gets the grease". Crota was the last fun raid. Friends didn't mind going through a few times to help friends, but King's Fall requires too much grind and no one wants to go through it more than once per week. I am hanging up my hat at 309 light. My Brother is 317 and he is too mostly due to the low crappy drop rate for all the hard work and the in game purchases??? Bad idea. A bunch of us have recently purchased the other popular games, but haven't played them because of the massive grind it takes to keep up every week in Destiny. My final comments are to Bungie: Bungie, I think you are reaching YOUR destiny! It has been fun, but not anymore.
