I don't see the point of English class if I already know how to speak the language.

English teaches you grammar, spelling and how to write. Comes in very handy when looking for jobs or applying for schools.

Where I am now, it's not even an English class. It may as well be called "literature". We're done with grammar fundamentals and stuff.

Well it never hurts to be well educated American history.

Just answer this question: Do you want to be knowledgable and well rounded in many different things? At our age it is hard to understand why all of this is so important. You're not just reading and analyzing text. You are literally building your brain. You and I are in the middle of a major brain development process and things like reading, math, analyzing and making connections is what the brain needs to grow.
