I grew up in a predominately middle eastern/Islamic neighbourhood as a white kid, I can tell you from first hand experience that majority of these people aren't peaceful tolerant human beings. While they are a minority they will act humble, tolerate things to an extent and generally be reasonably peaceful; once they take majority hold of an area though their attitude changes to polar opposite. Their goal is to convert/breed until they become a majority then put their own rules and laws in place, with complete disregard for anyone else. Give it 50 years and majority of governments in Europe will be under Islamic rule.

You lived in an area where you were the minority. Of course this is how you viewed the situation. No matter the race or ethnicity or religion, once a majority and minority is settled then everything plays out exactly how these words meanings suggest.
-
Well, I've worked with Muslims the majority of my career life, and I have an entirely different perspective. The point of this post was to present information. Not talk about how growing up in Michigan gives you a great worldwide perspective.
-
I lived in an Islamic neighbourhood for 18 years, and I only ever witnessed and was subjected to extreme intolerance and prejudice. The few that did seem like reasonable people eventually showed their true colors and presented themselves just like the rest. When my wife was 16 she lived in Egypt with her family for 18 months and was subjected to the same things; generally the only people who aren't Muslims and have had positive experiences with Muslims have been with Muslims living in western countries as a small minority.
-
But are they not also subject to extreme intolerance and prejudice? Just turn on Fox news and you see it. I would be defensive of my lifestyle too. Cool story about your wife, I also have a lot of friends who lived in the middle east and had completely the opposite experience.
-
Fox News is utterly retarded and no one should be taking anything seen on there seriously. Yep cool. I hear the same bollocks from people all the time when I tell them about my experiences, they've met 2-3 nice Muslims before so they insist that all Muslims are nice people; that's as ignorant as saying all Muslims are terrorists. When a Catholic priest is found to be abusing kids, people scream in disgust towards Catholics/the church, but when some Haji mows down a ton of innocent people suddenly everyone becomes apologists and insists it's western society's fault. It makes me sick to see the dead be forgotten under a pile of PC bullshit and Islamic apologists.

So many fallacies in your argument, there's not even a point in continuing on.
-
You provided no counterpoint, good talkin to ya champ.
-
You didn't even present an argument... I didn't even know what point to argue lol.
-
Presented many points, maybe you just can't understand them.
-
That's definitely a possibility. I apologize, I'm used to debating with educated and well versed counterparts.

Edited by TH0MAS THE DANK : 11/16/2015 10:52:14 PMObviously you aren't, since it's so difficult for you to comprehend a very simple point. Your "knowledge" of what I'm taking about comes from reading something in a book, my knowledge is from years and years of first hand experience within the community.

Ok well here's a ( I guess) counter argument: Yes Fox news is biased but it doesn't change the fact that they broadcast a negative view of Islam. Sorry people have different personal experiences than you. Yes this climate of political correctness can be annoying and tiresome. I don't think the dead are forgotten by us not making hasty generalizations. I think that covers your "points" from your last post.
-
One more point. From everything that is happening in the world in terms of Islam vs The West, do you think it's possible for us to live side by side in peace? Ultimately this was my point, and my personal opinion is that we can't.
-
My honest opinion is that it's possible but not probable.
-
Do you think it's possible for them to live in peace amongst themselves?
