Strength of the Pack Ch. 7: My Turn pt. 1

We were all grieving about Phantom's attack, I didn't even want to go back to those Crucible arenas, but I knew I had no say in it. "Alan, don't worry about it. We have to go back and make sure Phantom does not attack again." Blake spoke softly as he rubbed his hair. "Well, as you know, that demon is invisible! I, two, would fear his coming!" James took a deep breath as he stroke his goatee. Colt appeared to give us his words of wisdom. "Well, not just will we fear his coming, we won't see his coming! Eh? Eh? See what I did there?" Pinea understood the situation at hand, and she was not amused by Colt's comment. "Colton! Don't you see how serious this is?!" "No. The man's invisible." Colt was calm as ever. Pinea gasped! "Colton, you really are trying to be an a**!" "Pineapples, you're just now figuring this out? You are slow." "PINEA!! MY NAME IS PINEA!! HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU THAT?!" Her shell grew into a two foot radius. Colt glanced at me. "Don't you dare! Don't.. you.. dare!" I shouted. Colt looked back at Pinea and in the softest voice he has. "Okay, okay. But how many times do I have to tell you that I don't give a s***?" Morin had to grab Pinea's shell to keep her from killing Colt. Dakota jogged up the stairs. "At first, he was reluctant, but Lord Shaxx gave us permission to go check out the Crucible arenas." "Oh, greaat!" I said sarcastically. "Do you want to stay behind?! I will not tolerate complaints!" shouted Dakota angrily. "Forgive me, but I saw what this thing can do." I said quietly. "If we don't do anything about it, you might get to witness it again! And again! So, it's your call," Dakota stood straight. "Yes, I am coming." I glanced to the floor as I answered. "All right! You heard 'em! Let's get packing!" shouted James as he stood up. We all started collecting gear and placing them in our jump ships. "Guardian. How's that bounty coming along?" Blake looked up at Amanda. "Doing good so far. Hopefully after this match I'll finish the Last Word kills... I hate that gun." Amanda smiled. "That shotgun is worth it though." Blake tossed his bag in his ship and hopped in himself. After meeting above the atmosphere, Lord Shaxx told us that a base on the moon was available. The only down side was that base holds an 'anomaly'. "This rumble match will have benefits half way through." Lord Shaxx would not tell us the new combat setting. We arrived at the moon, but we were deployed in different locations. "Radio silence or no?" I asked. "No. Keep radios on." answered Dakota. I walked slowly through the base. It was quiet, knowing my team, that wasn't right. I kept my hand cannon, Blake told me how skilled Morin was at sneaking up on people. Which I could not believe, but I was not going to test that theory... he did! "Airforce Alan taking off!" Morin ran up behind me and shoulder charged me. I was sent flying. One second later, Blake stuck him with a magnetic grenade. I respawned and ran the opposite direction. This time, I saw a scope glare! I dodged it with no time to spare! (Boom! I just rhymed! Glare and spare) I hid around a corner, hoping Dakota would leave me alone. As I waited, James came up at me. I raised my hand cannon and fired! James opened fire with his auto fifle, but I jumped over the salvo of bullets! I fired three more shots, which brought his shields down. While in mid air, I pulled out a knife and threw at James. It shattered his visor. James lowered his arms, then fell over to the right. "Whoo. That was close." I walked around the corner... then respawned. "I knew Dakota wouldn't leave." said Colt laughing. I walked down this long cooridor, at the end of it was the 'anomaly'. It was a giant hexagonal object. As I stood there, I began to feel tired, strangely. "That's the anomaly. It has caused people to go unconscious or even die!" said Colt excitedly. I started walking away quickly! The hallway I was walking down entered into a cave. I carefully looked around looking for anyone trying to sneak up on me. Instead, I found special ammo for my side arm. (I love hand cannons and side arms. Can't ya tell?) I loaded the clip and, not a minute later, Morin is charging me again! He reeled his arm back for the punch, but I sidestepped him, grabbed his arm and threw him into the cave wall. "Okay. That didn't work like I planned... ohhh." Morin rolled over to the sight of a pitch black barrel. "No it didn't." I said. Bang bang bang! I continued walking down the tunnel. All of the sudden, I sensed something behind me! I turned around quickly, but no one was there. "Phantom's got me on edge," I started taking deep breaths. I turned around to see Dakota face to face with me! Without touching me, he sent me flying backwards. "D*** warlocks!" I whispered under my breath. I stood up and switched my hand cannon for two knives. "Let's go!" shouted Dakota. I ran to him, in response, he channeled his energy through his hand. I narrowly dodged it then, I swung. With his other hand, he used his energy to stop my knife! I jumped back and threw one of my knives. It stuck him in the left shoulder. "S***!" Dakota tried pulling it out, but a claw on the back side of the blade held it in place. Dakota ran to me and and channeled energy through his only good hand. With my empty hand, I grabbed his arm and directed it behind me... where Blake was. He was tossed back a few feet. I pulled out my hand cannon and finished him. I turned around to see Dakota forming a fusion grenade, and walking towards me...
The line "Not just will we fear his coming, we won't see his coming." by Colt, came from FJFSOM656. I found it funny and very fitting so I decided to put it in the story.
