Frozen enemies, empty towers, no fun :(

Sorry for long winded story, but want to be clear so problem is fixed, TL:DR will be at the end: Hey guys, i recently bought TTK after hearing some good things about it and wanted to give destiny another chance. I used to play destiny from when it launched and raided, but got quite bored of it but heard good things about TTK (The Taken King expansion) and how they redid the loot system and other tweaking that really improved the game. Since i didn't start off as level 40, i decided to do the TTK story line to rush to level 40 so i could play with my friends. With the story line being VERY AWESOME, i got quite excited to be able to play with my friends. Once i reached 40, i decided to start working on my light level and started queuing for pvp and strikes. To my dismay, it took a very long time to find a match of 2 other guardians and once i grouped with them, all of the enemies were frozen in place not attacking and the other 2 guardians were running into the wall firing their guns. I wasn't able to do damage to the enemies while they died and the guardians were teleporting around and running into walls. I never got an error code kicking me out. The weird thing was that whenever i tried playing it before 10:00 central, i seemed to have better luck with having the game running fine, and able to do one or two strikes before it would start to freeze on me again. This also wasn't just the strikes, but towers were empty and each planet that i tried doing patrol missions i was by myself. I only got Baboon error code once or twice, out of a hundred of times trying to do strikes with other guardians, so i didn't think that's actually the problem. When playing this game during launch, i had no problems that existed and it was really aggravating me. This became an ongoing thing, and thought that maybe it was something on my end even though i am hardwired 100% of the time. My connectivity tests range around 20-35 download and 4-6 upload depending on the times. Ive tried doing the connectivity test right as this problem (guardians teleporting and minions freezing) and connectivity was in a good range. I tried looking up many ways to fix the problem, i tried doing the DNS fix on ps4, setting it to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4, which was one possible fix since some ISPs capped you for playing on PSN. Another fix that i tried was creating a static ip and opening all ports necessary for PS4 and destiny, but that didn't work, even though i got maybe one or two games without the problem arising of my strikes being frozen. I also tried to create a DMZ for my ps4 but then again, no luck. The one fix seems to be that each time i turn off my PS4, i am able to do one strike or one crucible match without any connectivity issues or anyone freezing in place or teleporting around. I know its temporary fix, but its like putting on a band-aid and ripping it right off. It's not fun and a grueling exercise just to be able to play a game. I am really desperate to get this game to work. From what little matchmaking experience that i have, i really like the new expansion and want it to work, does anyone have any ideas for fixes? TL:DR: enemies are freezing, guardians are running into walls and shooting, my bullets do nothing and empty tower/patrols. I tried A LOT and need more ideas or a fix to this.

  • I an not sure of you location but you may try a speed test at time of problems. I use speedtest.net as it allows me to easily select a target host, select Las Vegas, Nevada US and let us know what you get? It may end up having something to do with the routing from point a to b to c to d to ...you get the picture.

    • Empty social spaces and problems with matchmaking can be symptoms of NAT trouble. Have you checked you NAT type?

        1) Check your NAT type and refer to the Network Troubleshooting guide posted by someone else here 2) What if you enter a Patrol with someone already in your Fireteam (not matchmade) - any difference?
