Bungie Pro Video Bugs Thread

Happy Bungie Day! As part of our numerous gifts to you, the community, Bungie Pro Video has emerged from its beta state and is fully functioning as of today. Bungie Pro, in addition to expanding your fileshare from 6 to 24 slots and 25 to 250 MB, now includes 5 render minutes per month, which will let you render up to 5 minutes of high quality 360p video or 1 minute of high definition 720p video per month. You can check out more info about Bungie Pro, including how to get Pro and how to render videos, on our new Bungie Pro project page. This thread is for you to report any bugs you find with our new service to us so we can take a look at them. To provide some general guidance about reporting bugs, I'd like to recommend a few things that you should do before reporting a bug: 1. Watch your film clip in Halo 3 before you render it. 2. Put the clip in your file share and then choose to render it. 3. Wait at least 2-3x as long as the estimate the site gives you for the rendering time. We try to be fast and to have accurate estimates, but the Hydra is a complicated beast and it is sometimes hard for us to get our estimates right on the money. 4. Watch your video. 5. If you think something is wrong with your video, watch it again in Halo 3 to see if it goes wrong there as well. If so, you should've followed step 1 more closely. ;) 6. Check this post to see if there's a known issue already reported that looks the same as your problem. (I will be updating this post if more issues are discovered.) 7. If you still think there's a legitimate bug with your video or the service, post here and include a detailed description and a link to the file. (e.g. http://www.bungie.net/Online/Halo3UserContentDetails.aspx?h3fileid=84546622) Known Issues: - It is currently not possible to purchase additional render minutes. The Bungie Pro project page will be updated when it is. The cost for additional render minutes will be 100 Microsoft Points for a pack of 10 render minutes. - Reticles do not show properly when playing back film clips in Halo 3. While the game build which we use has a fix to show reticles in the first person video, reticles still do not show properly when inside of vehicles. Please try to only report legitimate issues with the Bungie Pro Video in this thread. Reducing the spam will help us discover, classify, and fix issues. Thanks again for being the most awesome community in gaming. [Edited on 07.09.2009 11:46 AM PDT]

 •
Posted by: BunglePro
Posted by: RC Master Hi, the render for this file skips about 3 seconds at 3:44 in the video. The saved film is valid and looks fine at that point.
I re-rendered the video and it looks like those missing frames are back; let me know if you see any other issues with the video.
Looks fine now; thanks! BTW: I seemed to get my render minutes refunded. Was this intentional? Not complaining! Just making sure you're aware! :P

Whats wrong?
The video plays fine for me both on the web and when downloaded. The file may have been re-rendered; let me know if you are still seeing issues and I can investigate further.

 •
Posted by: BunglePro I re-rendered your HD video and it seems to play fine for me; let me know if you are still seeing issues with the video.
Still not working right for me. I've been trying some WMP 11 troubleshooting ideas -thinking it might be my player, but to no avail. I don't know....it's probably on my end but not sure what exactly it is. :/ I appreciate the response though.

 • Renders are a bit slow today due to the extra load from the Steaktacular event. We are putting more of our servers on rendering, so it should speed up. Sorry for the delays!

 •
Posted by: BunglePro
Posted by: MaNiaCaL Z78 I'm having a problem. My Bungie Pro subscription expired. I didn't renew since your company stated that once the switch over happens that it will basically be useless. However I have about 90 render minutes that I purchased through Amazon. I try to render films now, but I can't b/c my subscription is expired. What are my options? Do I have to renew my bungie subcription thats basically only gonna be usefull for abt a month, to use minutes I already paid for? If I do renew are my minutes gonna be mysteriously absent? Is their anyway to use minutes I already paid for without having to spend more money (hooray capatalism)?
Unfortunately, you have to purchase a new Bungie Pro subscription to use your minutes, but you will be able to keep rendering videos for the next year. Your Pro subscription won't be invalid after Microsoft takes control of Reach.
So does that mean Pro purchased before the 7th is valid until it's due expiring date? Is 343 doing some new kind of Pro for Halo Reach?

 • I've rendered 1 clip so far, one in SD, then decided to render it in HD. So I have two rendered films of the same clip. Not my issue. The SD version plays back just fine - played it using Bungie's player and WMP. The HD render is a different story. I first played it back with Bungie's player, then downloaded it so I could watch it in HD on my WMP. The audio's fine, but the video portion is missing several frames. The length is exactly as it should be, again, audio is no problem - this is the problem: Frames Skipped: 58 Frame Rate: 30fps Actual Rate: 4.2fps EDIT, just wanted to add this info, don't know if it's helpful: Max Bandwidth/Max & Selected Bit rate: 8096kbps Packets: -Received: 3077 -Recovered: 0 -Lost: 0 It only shows 4-5 frames of the entire 21s clip. (WMP 11, btw....) Here's the clip in question: Grunt Made Me LOL HD It plays fine when viewing it in Bungies' player because bungie's player plays it back in SD. *wanted to add my downstream is 10 MBPS, averages 9.5, so that's not the problem. Also, whether rendering in SD or HD the results for both are darker videos, for some reason. Why is that? Is there something I can do on my end to improve that, or is that a byproduct of the rendering process that Bungie can fix? Thanks in advance. Groove Lives EDIT: I changed my GT this morning(Tuesday) to Tominator 2029. [Edited on 07.05.2011 2:19 AM PDT]

 • I have the receipt for having purchased Bungie Pro and yet it doesn't say that I am even a member online. I downloaded it through my Xbox and it doesn't even say that I downloaded it on my downloadable history. I would be glad to purchase more render minutes to use the service but it won't even let me do that since I don't have an account. The Microsoft employee referred me to here. He thought you guys could help me. I would really appreciate the help. I purchased Bungie Pro on March 8, 2011 I believe. I have gone without it for over 4 months and would appreciate some help in rendering videos. Thank you very much.

 • Do you get to keep the 5 free minutes of rendering time each month? Also, if I was to render a video that exceed the 5 minutes, what would happen to the rest of the time?

 •
Posted by: New Mombassa I Dont know if this is a problem or not but my 19 second video was rendering for 4 days before it finished.
Thanks for the report! I'm sorry it took so long to render your video. After the issues with our render farm earlier this week (look a few posts up), I had to go back and manually re-render a few clips that were lost or stuck; your video is probably one of them.

 • Our render system had some failures yesterday and last night that stalled renders for quite a while. We fixed the issues this morning and all of the old renders should have finished. Thanks for your patience while we resolved this issue! Please let us know if you see any other issues.

 •
Posted by: Killer VVhale Seems to be a lot of issues with this, but I've got some audio sync problems in this video that I rendered. Is it fixable? About 3/4 of the way through the video until the end the sound does not quite match the video.
I re-rendered your video and it looks like the audio synchronization issues are fixed. Let me know if you see any other issues.

 • Speaking of bugs on Bungie why can I not sign out of my bungie.net account? I clicked sign out multiple times and it will not sign me out. So I was wondering is this also a bug?

 • My two minute video here has been 'rendering' for 3 hours now, what gives, usually it takes about 5 minutes! Has the system been halted? Edit: after like 7 hours, it's finally rendered... [Edited on 06.15.2011 2:46 AM PDT]
