Rage Quitting is a major problem in competitive multiplayer games like League of Legends, Call of Duty, Halo and in our case, Destiny. It's been a year since Destiny's inception and with the arrival of The Taken King and the new questing system, rage quitting and leaving is as bad as ever with players simply leaving games if they can't get what they want done. This shouldn't be viewed as acceptable and those who decide to take part in leaving a fresh match should be disciplined accordingly with the punishment increasing in severity with each time they quit. Before I propose my idea of the punishment, I will state again that this would only be relevant for fresh matches, meaning you wouldn't be punished if you joined a late game. This is what would happen in an ideal situation...
1. First time leaving a game = 20 minute ban from all PvP activities.
2. This multiplies by 2X each time you leave a game until the weekly reset.
This may seem harsh but other IP's use a version of this system and they do very well. I personally want to see Destiny on the eSports scene and this along with Trials of Osiris is another step towards making Destiny a more fun and competitive game.

I feel that a 20 minute punishment for your FIRST QUIT is way too harsh. Halo: Reach did it quite well, with a 15 minute punishment after your third leave within an hour- after those 15 minutes are up, if you leave AGAIN within an hour you should be kicked for about 45 minutes. I do NOT think you should be punished for your FIRST LEAVE. That's a bit silly.
