Ideas for Improved Gunslinger Class

This is my first post on this forum and so if I do anything incorrectly please let me know so I can fix it. I apologize in advance for the long post With the addition of the new subclasses, each class gained a very powerful tool in their arsenal. However, with just how good these new classes are, it got me thinking about some of the more lackluster parts of the old subclasses. The main one I wish to address is Gunslinger. Now I am not at all saying that Gunslinger is a bad hunter class. It ABSOLUTELY wrecks in PvP game modes. The super alone can net you an easy 3 kills (even more if Keyhole and Combustion are used) and the throwing knife works wonders with a skillful hand. Combine this with powerful trip mines and you have a class that, in the right hands, is an absolute terror to deal with. However, that is only the PvP aspect. In PvE, things take a rather dramatic turn as I find myself feeling a bit underwhelmed by the kit given to Gunslingers. The Golden Gun- What makes this super simply terrifying in PvP is the ability to instantaneously grab kills to and fro within mere seconds. However, in PvE the effectiveness of the super is significantly reduced as it causes about as much damage as a single sniper shot. Even with the Celestial Nighthawk, Golden Gun will only deal a bit more damage than a single shot from the Sleeper Simulant. While this is enough to usually kill a major in one shot, it seems to be rather plain as other classes (notibly Stormcaller and Sunbreaker) are able to clear multiple majors and still have some super left. Throwing Knives- While fun to use and very satisfying to get kills with in PvP and PvE alike, this melee ability doesn't really have much use other than to give a bit of extra damage in PvE. Not only this but the damage, by default, is kinetic and only the burn perk allows solar damage to be dealt. Ideas: Throwing Knife Get rid of the perk "Circle of Life" under the Throwing Knife modifiers and instead replace it with a perk that causes the throwing knife to slow any target it hits for a few seconds. (multiple hits on the same target will refresh the duration, less effective on Ultras) Golden Gun Just the other day I read a post (https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/152951571/0/0) on the feedback forum proposing that if a Gunslinger were to be wearing the Celestial Nighthawk then model of the golden gun should change to a "No Land Beyond"-esque gun to denote a "One Shot, Massive Damage" theme. This got me thinking, "What if a Gunslinger wanted to make another weapon aside from a handcannon?" What is the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the term gunslinger? GUNS. Not just one, but several types of guns. Think about it, what if the main focus of the Gunslinger super was not to simply wield a single golden gun, but to smith and forge different types of golden guns depending on the situation. Most notably three different situations in which every class is faced with. -Clearing adds: Simply create a gun (such as an LMG, SMG, or even a Gatling Gun) that has a med-high rate of fire with medium to low damage, but with a much larger reserve of rounds. -Killing Guardians in crucible: As already stated above, the original Golden Gun is ideal for this situation and would remain as a potential weapon to create using the super -Dealing damage to a boss: For this a weapon (such as a flintlock rifle) would be made that would deal significant damage to an enemy but only be given a single shot (Essentially a selectable Celestial Nighthawk perk, but without the addition of the perk Keyhole) Implementing these changes to the current skill tree would be a bit tricky as of now, given that many of of would not want our beloved Combustion and Gunfighter to simply go away, and so I propose these changes to the current skill tree -Remove Deadeye as a selectable perk I honestly don't know anyone that would use this over Combustion or Gunfighter and the only circumstance that this perk would have an effect in is medium to far ranges with the Golden Gun with which, at that range, Over the Horizon is necessary to net a one-shot kill -Make the Combustion perk inherent to the Golden Gun special I think that this would be perfectly fine but, if necessary, this mechanic could be set to only activate on precision kills with the Golden Gun Now under the Golden Gun modifiers, you are left with Gunfighter and two empty slots. In these slots you would fill in the weapons ideas mentioned above to make the skill tree look like this Super Ability: Golden Gun- Summon a flaming pistol which disintegrates enemies with Solar Light causing them explode Modifiers: Gunfighter- Reduces the cooldown of the base Golden Gun, allowing it to be used more often *By moving Gunfighter to the first upgradeable modifier, we allow those who are leveling up their Gunslinger skill tree to retain the original Golden Gun without having to use one of the other perks/weapons until Gunfighter is unlocked Golden Gatling- Summon a flaming gatling gun to rip hordes of enemies to shreds The Perfect Shot- Summon a flaming rifle to deal devastating damage on an enemy Melee: Throwing Knife- Throw a knife from a distance Modifiers: Vital Hit- Throwing Knife causes an enemy to be slowed for a short amount of time Incendiary Blade- Throwing Knife sets enemies one fire, dealing an additional damage over time Knife Juggler- Precision kills with the Throwing Knife immediately resets its cooldown I believe that these changes would not only give gunslingers a valid place in PvE as pure damage dealers, but would make the class much more versatile and fun without affecting the PvP aspect of the class too much. Please tell me what you think of these ideas.
