MLG Cheehwawa's ** Halo REACH script ** (+REACH 2 preview!)

Halo: REACH by MLG Cheehwawa *** // PLEASE POST YOUR THOUGHTS TO KEEP THIS THREAD ALIVE. A LOT OF WORK WENT INTO IMAGINING, RESEARCHING, WRITING, AND EDITING THIS... ALL DONE BY ME. THANKS! \\ *** ** Moderator-approved ** DISCLAIMERS This is entirely my creation (I have borrowed lines directly from some novels to tie this in with the existing canon); I have no affiliation with Bungie studios and do not claim to know what Halo REACH will be about. This is my idea for what REACH would be like if I were the writer on the project. A lot of this has been crafted by me, and not taken directly from the Halo canon (namely characters, locations, battles, and ships), but to the best of my knowledge, it does not conflict with the canon at all. If it does, let me know so I can tweak it. The numbering question: Sierra-259 and Sierra-320 have call-signs above 150, the original number of Spartan-II candidates. My explanation for this is that there was a large pool of children surveyed (at least 320). Then of those, 150 of the best were selected, and of those, only 75 were conscripted due to budget limitations. The script is all complete and posted. This is definitely not the end of the story, though. I have designed this to be a trilogy of games. I'm working on the first sequal now, which will run parallel with the beginning of Halo 2 and some of Ghosts of Onyx, but it will be a new story like with my first script. Halo REACH 2 will show us numerous things which Bungie hasn't told us about, that you will find out as I post. I don't know how fast I will be able to get the sequal done, though I already have the backbone for the first and second sequals, as well as the first cinematic (Harbinger), as well as about half of the first mission, for REACH 2. I'm starting at a full time job tomorrow and another semester at college late this month. I will get this done as fast as possible. IF YOU DO NOT WANT MY STORY SPOILED, I SUGGEST YOU AVOID THE BESTIARUM AND DRAMATIS PERSONAE UNTIL SOMETHING IN THE STORY CONFUSES YOU. Otherwise you may know how the story ends before you even begin. I write this for three reasons: 1. Because I love the Halo Universe. 2. I am the writer for a small game developing studio. This is good practice for my current and future work. 3. To share my story; a lot of effort went into this, so please give it a read and leave some feedback if you have the time. I hope you enjoy this piece as much as I enjoyed researching and writing it. Halo REACH
0: Introduction (this!) I: Dramatis personae (Part 1) II: Bestiarum (Part 1 ll Part 2) III: The Pillar of Autumn (Part 1 ll Part 2) IV: Reach (Part 1 ll Part 2) V: The Grid (Part 1 ll Part 2) VI: The Divine Retribution (Part 1 ll Part 2 ll Part 3) VII: Camp Independence (Part 1 ll Part 2 ll Part 3) VIII: Ruins (Part 1 ll Part 2 ll Part 3) IX: Graves (Part 1 ll Part 2 ll Part 3 ll Part 4 ll Part 5) X: Asterion (Part 1 ll Part 2) XI: Pathways (Part 1 ll Part 2) XII: Revalation (Part 1 ll Part 2 ll Part 3) XIII: Ghosts of Reach (Part 1 ll Part 2 ll Part 3) XIV: Credits (Part 1) XV: Legendary Ending (Part 1)
Halo REACH 2 (preview)
Harbinger: (Part 1 ll Part 2) Notes (Part 1 ll Part 2) [Edited on 08.30.2009 6:52 PM PDT]

 • Mission 05: Betrayal October 20. In orbit, Lepidus leads the Brute ships in the rear to fire on the beseiged Elite ships in front, which are taking on the Onyx-type Sentinels. While the Covenant are fighting, the Guardian suggests to use this advantage and try to enter the Silent Cartographer, which is occupied by Covenant. After reaching the map room, they discover the location of the Library, a facility which was sought after by Ackerson (after he heard about the one on the first ring), but he has never found it. The Library is revealed to contain DNA sequences from all "indexed" species. Ackerson wants to study the alien species, maybe even the Forerunner. He wants you to retrieve samples. Mission 06: The Library October 20. The Betas go to the Library. Another proto-gravemind is forming, and they encounter Penitent Tangent once more. Lots of humans are sent as a vanguard to try and secure the Library, but they fail. Their remains are found within, and explain the plentiful human combat forms from Halo 2. They are sent to try and stop the proto-Gravemind, which Ackerson doesn't have any intel on, but Tangent betrays them and is absorbed by the Gravemind, accelerating its growth, by creating tissue out of the DNA sequences under Tangent's control. Escape the Library. Mission 07: Naborus October 21. While the Brutes and Elites are weak, the Spartans assault Naborus' camp near the control room (which is locked down by Tangent), to try and kill him (the Brutes are stronger, so they will help the Elites to try and even the fight out so they cancel eachother out). The Spartans manage to kill Strabus and Grattius, and they wound Naborus, who is not wearing his signature red armor. Lepidus arrives in a Moroi and forces the Spartans to retreat, fatally injuring Isaac. Isaac passes away, and S259 taps the control into his armor for the self-destruct, before fleeing. Lepidus leaps out of the Moroi, approaches Naborus, who has crawled closer to Isaac's corpse. Isaacs MJOLNIR detonates, vaporizing Naborus. Lepidus flees in a dropship to the cruiser and vows to kill any Spartans and Elites that he sees. Mission 08: Razor's Edge October 22. The humans enter a valley system that leads down away from the control room, and they use warthogs to navigate the treacherous region. The humans fight to their final ship (The Razor's Edge) while the Brutes and Elite ships are together assaulted by the Sentinels, though the former allies continue to stand apart. One Elite ship, the SUBLIME TRANSCENDENCE, flees to slipspace, leaving it all behind, as the majority of the ships are gutted by the swarms of Sentinels. The ONI prowler uses the slipspace wake to escape, and they are brought to Joyeus Exultation. Mission 09: Malhiem October 28. S259 asks Ackerson why he brought them here instead of Earth. Ackerson explains a secret group of sub-Spartans, the S-IIIs, were roduced by him, and they are about to go on their suicide mission (to stop the massing Covenant fleet)... but he wants the S-IIs to take their place, because humanity will need as many Spartans as possible to defend Earth, and he believes that the S-IIs can accomplish the mission. Lepidus arrives behind with the surviving Brute ships (the majority massacred by the Onyx-type Sentinels) and Lepidus berates Xytan for "running home to mother" after being defeated. The Covenant fleets break up into conflict. Ackerson wants the S-IIs to stall the conflict, since the S-IIIs haven't arrived yet, so he orders them to stop the Brute leadership, since the Elites are being massacred. The Brutes have commandeered an Elite command post on Malhiem, the moon of the system. The Spartans are to disable this command post to throw the Brutes into disarray. After completion, more Elites arrive in-system, accompanied by a massive space station similar to the Unyielding Hierophant... and they open fire on Lepidus and his other Brute ships. An ONI Prowler arrives in their wake... and stealths toward Malhiem to pick them up. Mission 10: Spartans October 28. The Spartans board the space station which supplies the Covenant fleet. They go to overload the reactors aboard the station; there are two, so the S-IIIs go to one, while the S-IIs go to the other. Vinh is KIA. The Betas and 300 S-III survivors escape in the Prowler. Lepidus and his Brutes are now entirely defeated, so they enter slipspace and flee to Earth. Xytan mobilizes the ships to follow them, but the station explodes, vaporizing a large portion of the fleet and sending them into disarray. The Prowlers follow Lepidus' slipspace wake to Earth, and realize that the Elites aren't following. They witness Lepidus' crippled forces limp into the midst of dozens of Covenant warships still assaulting Sol. After-credits Ending: NOVA November 2. Show the mobilization of forces to defend Mars. Ackerson is one person in charge, and he stands before a group of 300 Spartan-warriors in "Zone 17" on Mars. He says that the Covenant are unrelenting in their struggle, but a civil war has begun to grip them outside of UNSC space. Humanity has a chance. Behind them, the humans are digging for... something November 3. Xytan is informed that more Elite reinforcements have arrived to stand against the Brutes. Xytan, satisfied, decides that he will walk the grasses of his birthplace one last time, so he leaves his ship for the surface, and visits a make-shift grave site for his brother, Raum. He is walking in the golden-yellow fields of grass, and looks up at the gathering Covenant fleet. Inside the TRANSCENDENCE, the Engineers begin to hurriedly repair the NOVA. A Grunt attempts to stop them, but Whitcomb's message plays. On the surface, Xytan sees about 20 of the ships enter slipspace, and then a ship in the central formation, his ship, explodes from the NOVA, vaporizing much of the combined fleet, and sending 300 kmph winds down into the planet, upending Xytan. Xytan vows to take the rest of his ships and follow Lepidus, whatever it takes. Legendary ending November 3. Ackerson is sitting at his desk, and someone approaches him while he's doing his work. He has a worried look on his face and chokes out "Sir... the structure. Something's happening." before the screen cuts to black. [Edited on 06.27.2010 5:01 PM PDT]

 • Naborus, a Brute Shipmaster, controls the CCS-class Battlecruiser TRIUMPHANT DECLARATION. The ship participated in the Battle of Reach, and remained behind to aid Xytan 'Jar Wattinree in capturing the "demons" who are in posession of the Forerunner crystal after the first script. Cinematic 01: Harbinger October 15. Aboard the High Charity, Tartarus brings Truth three slivers from the "Shard of the Oracle" from Halo REACH's legendary ending. Truth excuses the Elite honor guards, puzzling them, and tells Tartarus that he is to bring one of the shards to Naborus. In this opening cinematic, Engineers populate the sanctum, and they overhear Truth. One Engineer slowly turns to another, further down the hall, and the camera follows its gaze. The other Engineer slowly matches its gaze, and then turns to another distant Engineer; this continues out of the massive room, signifying that the Engineers have some sort of telekenetic communication. October 16. The ships arrive at Joyous Exultation, a colony world, and the birthplace of Xytan. Here, the ships receive repairs, and the Betas aboard remain concealed. While here, they encounter an engineer which communicates with them through Guardian. On Naborus' ship, Tartarus enters the bridge along with his two henchmen, Strabus and Grattius (two Brutes who were part of his pack in Contact Harvest). All other Brutes are excused from the bridge, besides Naborus' top officer Lepidus. He presents Naborus with a single sliver of the crystal, tells him Truth has a plan for the Jiralhanae which will be set into motion soon, and tells him to be careful with the crystal. He leaves Strabus and Grattius behind to protect it. Back on Xytan's ship, the engineer informs them that it has disabled the NOVA bomb, because it will surely be of more use "later." It also tells them that the engineers aboard Naborus' ship have communicated to him that there are a pair of Spartan prisoners, "Reclaimers," aboard as well. The Betas can communicate with them through the networks of Engineers on both ships. The Spartans are Isaac and Vinh. Mission 01: The Triumphant Declaration October 16. While the ships are being repaired in orbit in a space station, the Spartans decide to make a stand. They leave hiding, and fight off of the SUBLIME TRANSCENDENCE, into the space station, and to the TRIUMPHANT DECLARATION. They rescue Isaac and Vinh, as well as numerous other prisoners, who reveal that Naborus has an honest respect for humans, and a severe distaste for Elites. The Spartans fight to the bridge and confront Naborus, and steal a shard of a crystal. Guardian says it is a shard of Imperious, and they can use it for quicker slipspace travel times. They escape from the ships and toward the planet's surface... and are shot down. They manage to angle their trajectory toward a large shipping facility. Mission 02: Exultation October 16. On the surface, they rally troops from the numerous dropships which crashed, and meet their new pilot. They fight their way toward the ship building facility, and manage to steal a Scarab walker, which they use to break into the base. They fight across the facility and steal the single half-constructed ship and take off, vaporizing numerous Covenant workers. S259 asks Guardian for coordinates, and he says he "knows just the place" before bringing them into a shaky slipspace transition. Mission 03: Halo October 19. The ship exits slipspace by a massive blue gas giant. They slingshot around the world... and come to Installation 05, a Halo. The rickety ship is falling apart, and they end up crashing into the ring. They emerge from the wreckage and battle some local fauna before encountering humans - ONI operatives. Both groups are surprised to see the other; apparently this is the fourth ("Delta") Halo ring discovered by the humans (the first in Halo 1). They are led by Ackerson, who has a distaste for the Spartan-IIs. Soon after the meeting, a cluster of Elite jump in-system, led by the SUBLIME TRANSCENDENCE. The Covenant quickly begin to land troops, and the humans fight through valleys and to an evac point. More Covenant ships arrive, among them Naborus' ship. Naborus gives his armor to Lepidus, and entrusts him as Shipmaster. He tells him that he has failed the Prophet of Truth in keeping the shard safe, so he is going to go after it on the ground. He relays Truth's orders to Lepidus before leaving the bridge. Mission 04: 2401 Penitent Tangent October 20. The humans have set up a defensible position underground in the honeycombed interior of Halo. The Covenant above appear to be securing the ring. Guardian suggests you enter the Sentinel factory, to gain reinforcements. Here, you meet Penitent Tangent, who promptly absorbs the fragment of Imperious "as per protocol." After the absorption, Tangent is noticably stranger, but the Spartans continue into the Factory, which has been occupied by the Covenant. The Sentinels and Spartans manage to destroy the Covenant occupation, and the Factory begins to produce Sentinels again. Tangent warns of an imminent outbreak caused by the Meddlers. You escape to an evac as the Sentinels link up with eachother and begin to repel the Covenant fleet... [Edited on 08.30.2009 6:57 PM PDT]

 •
Posted by: DaBigCheese02 I thought I heard bungie say halo reach was their last halo title:(
Yes... but if Reach has an open ending, a new trilogy could be spawned from it with a new cast of characters and events that runs pretty much parallel to the normal Halo series. A new story arc.
