Future Warrior

I watched a History Channel show last night about the US Army's Future Warrior project, a project designed to showcase what the soldiers of 2020s-2040s might look like. The Future Warrior's battle gear includes visors with HUD's, artificial exomuscles, in-suit climate controls, bulletproof textiles, smart ammunition, and much more. Can anyone say MJOLNIR Mk I? For more info, go to http://composite.about.com/gi/dynamic/offsite.htm?site=http://www.iol.co.za/index.php%3Fclick%5Fid=116%26art%5Fid=iol1073473748336F362%26set%5Fid=1. The Future Warriors in the picture at the top of the page kind of resemble our friend the Security Officer from Marathon. Cool.

 • I am pretty sure that they have taken that into consideration, and they will probably have thicker, stronger armour there. so if they do get shot there, then it would only piss them off. "AHHHH you ruined a perfectly good shirt, You heartless bastards!"

 • Yeah but that guy in the example got shot in the leg where no vital organs are. If he go shot in the chest or the head for that matter who could have been killed.

 • Those things look so cool, I saw something like that in a popular science mag some time ago. Soon soldiers won't have to worry about getting shot by crazy people, maybe theyy could make a civilian version for cops, then they wont always have to call in for backup when the Sht hits the fan, they could just march in like robocop or something.

 • Looks like a cool article...get reading. Here's a lazy link for ya. Some of the more advanced armies in our world today are already using HUDS for their missions and many plans are already using "smart" bombs. But in the end it just makes killing each other that much more complexed. Our governments waste money of killing things while they should really invest on saving lifes.
