Think of it like this, take Blizzard for example they make an expansion like Warlords of Draenor you are able to level up to level 100 and are stronger and have upgraded armor, etc. compared to Mists of Pandaria where you are only able to level up to 90 and have the outdated gear compared to the level 100 gear. Blizzard is expanding the same game with expansions that cost about $60 per expansion, with this expansion it was about $42 if you already had the game and downloaded it over xbox instead of going to gamestop or other separate game companies. So technically your argument is invalid because they are adding onto the Destiny world as Blizzard is adding onto the World of Warcraft world. So instead of bitching about it, why not just put down the controller, go outside and burn the Xbox or PS4 you have if you're gonna complain that any other company has done in the years with DLC.

  • Except that Blizzard creates entirely new continents, an average of 6 new raids per expansion, and revamps most existing classes/subclasses, while introducing new ones. But, yeah. One mission on a small asteroid and 15 rooms on a ship are cool too. Don't get me wrong. I really like this expansion. This one. I particularly love the presentation in King's Fall, with the giant chimes and sepia tones and interesting puzzles and a lovingly crafted final boss (I would argue that Golgoroth (I call him "Gandalf" for simplicity's sake) is a very underwhelming fight, though, since he's really just a bullet sponge, but with a limited area that soaks up the bullets). However, most of the time value from this game is earned due to the unpredictability of the looting system. If each mission or strike had upgraded my gear in some way, I would have gotten to the raid in a fraction of the time it actually takes. So, basically, most of the time is wasted. Filler. Fluff. Time spent earning an reward that was either useless or never came. Using WoW as an example again; if I decided that I finally want to gear up my rogue, I'm pretty much guaranteed to by done in a certain amount of time, because literally everything progresses your character, until you hit the cap. If you're wanting to get a very specific mount or trinket, it might take a bit more time. Usually a week or two, waiting on the resets. But you know exactly who you have to kill, how many times you need to kill them, and why they need to die. Destiny adopts a more "gambling" style loot system. Everything has a chance to give you what you need, but it probably won't. But you're going to sit there and keep pulling that lever, because the next time might be a winner... or the next time... or the next time... ad nauseum.

  • When I was referring to Destiny with WoW I was meaning that during the next expansion on WoW you will not get up to the level cap, you won't get the cool gear and all the cool characters until you get the expansion, as is Destiny, you won't be able to progress through level cap and light level until you get the next expansion, given they should have given a strike server where people that are without expansion have a little fun instead of just being only able to the classic 6v6 on crucible. Plus WoW's had more time with the MMORPG, imagine during it's early stages how it could've been bashed and get bad reviews until they fixed things. They've actually have had time and have had people complain about every little thing. You can still look on the forums and see people complain about it. Anyway, in due time it can get better, patience is a virtue and you'll just have to wait. Who knows maybe by the time they hit a couple years in Destiny it'll be better even though it's awesome in my own personal view as is.
