I would like to have a calm, civilized conversation about the Hunter throwing knives. I believe that the headshot damage, not the base damage by any means, should be increased. My reasoning is... Titans have a one shot melee, the shoulder charge, and I have also seen titans regenerate health upon dealing melee damage. Warlocks have an ability that allows them to receive an extra overshield upon landing a melee hit. Hunters, Gunslinger in particular, have no way to land a melee and immediately kill someone apart from using there exotic slot and having to be invisible AND behind the enemy. I use Gunslinger, and I can land a headshot with the knife AND have the burn ability active, and not receive a kill. I believe that that should be rewarded with a kill, especially with a burn. Even if a basic throwing knife (without the burn) would not make a 1 shot, a precision shot AND the burn affect should. Edit: Due to a common misunderstanding, I am implying that the burn should kill the person. I don't believe a basic knife should be able to kill a player with one shot. The incendiary knife perk would have to be active in able to get the kill. Edit: Due to a common statement, which I do believe to be true, I think that of this was applied, the hit box for the head should also become smaller. I will agree, I have made a few knife shots that I thought were going to miss completely. Edit: Let's go guys! 100 replies! Keep posting that input! I'm loving your guy's opinions on the matter. Edit: 200 replies! Keep them coming! Edit: 500 replies! Keep commenting! Please vote and leave your opinion below on whether you think this should be changed or not. I would like to keep this calm and without all the fighting and arguing. I'm not crying for it to be buffed, but it should be considered given the abilities of the other classes. Edit: Just to make this clear, you would have to use the incendiary knife perk. I don't know how many times I have to say this. That perk takes the place of the precision reset perk, so you could not run around constantly making knife kills. Please understand this. I'm getting tired of explaining this to each person.
Titans have a one shot melee, the shoulder charge, and I have also seen titans regenerate health upon dealing melee damage.
Shoulder Charge isn't related to Storm Fist in any way shape or form. It's not even in the Melee column, it's part of the eighth column which are pretty much augmentations. Titan never regenerate health on melee hits, only on Melee kills with the Transfusion perk.
Warlocks have an ability that allows them to receive an extra overshield upon landing a melee hit.
How is that related to Throwing Knife in any way? Just curious.
Hunters, Gunslinger in particular, have no way to land a melee and immediately kill someone apart from using there exotic slot and having to be invisible AND behind the enemy. First off, Voidwalkers and Defenders don't have the ability to instantly kill players with a Melee either. Throwing Knife, like all other Melee abilities, should never have the ability to instantly kill outside of certain circumstances. Shoulder Charge is an augmentation that isn't even part of the Storm Fist upgrade tree, and Scorch only instantly kills while a Sunsinger has Radiance active. The only exception to this rule is Backstab with Blink Strike, which requires you to be behind a target. Throwing Knife is way too forgiving to ever be allowed to instantly kill a player with its blatantly obvious tracking. Yes, Backstab is finicky and activates on side-melees, but at least it's a Melee y'know? Not some ranged attack. TL;DR
No.
