What Really Happened with Martin O'Donnel and Destiny

I know I said I wasn't going to come back, but I had to share this for anyone who still wants to support Destiny and keep this in mind. What happened was that Bungie let Activision take control of their product, and even fired O'Donnel based on Activision's recommendation. O'Donnel was just trying to preserve the original vision of Destiny, but Activision kept interfering with the design choices of this game. A minor thing to note is that right around the time Bungie decided to revise everything in the story on August 2013, Joseph Staten, the lead writer for the Halo games, left a month later on September 2013. You can read the whole article here and the documents in said article to get more detail on Destiny. Ultimately, however, with these truths come to light, it comes down to two choices. Do you want to support a product that is not even what we were shown before, that costs more money than what you originally bought for it, that damaged the work relationships and even fired one of the main players of Bungie, and a product that's not even Bungie's game to begin with? Or do you not? It's all up to you, but I think my choices are clear.

  • Haha, I posted the exact same story and then found you had done it earlier. I totally agree and I'm pretty certain that I'll be hopping off the bandwagon and boycotting TTK. They expect us to pay $40 for a DLC when the last two combined were $35... They take our gear and nerf it to hell, then expect us to pay to make it what it used to be before they ruined it!!! Unfortunately, I guess Luke was right in saying that most of these kids will be "throwing money at the screen" as they keep dishing out content to milk their profits.

  • What happened was Activision took a giant shit on Bungie. Same way they did Blizzard and still do. Look at what happened to Diablo 3. Thanks Activision.

  • Activision messes everything up that's why no one likes them they get the developers Into stupid contracts witch ultimately give them control of the product it self and it shows why the developer needs control of their own game while the publisher doesn't interfere cause activision ruined a great story and messed up a great game
