First let me point out that joining the Clan can only be done through Bungie's website. It cannot be done through the Destiny Companion app. Took me a while to figure this out but a Clan is an extension of a Group. You can be a member of multiple Groups but be in only 1 Clan. Be sure you join the Clan once you're in the group. You should see a button that says "Interact" under the handsome cello player above. Through there you can join the Clan.
