Simple question and a simple poll.
For those who are not aware what transmogrification means. It is the act of applying a certain appearance to a piece of gear you are currently wearing based upon the appearance another piece of gear you currently have or have had in the past.
For Example
If you had the Warlock Chestpiece from PoE you could make it look like the chestpiece from Crota's end if you wanted to.
It would still possess all of the perks and stats of the PoE armor, but you now have the appearance of the Crota Gear.
I think this would be an excellent way to put some variety in the game. You could allow people to customize their own Guardians which would not only lead to more creative appearances, but also encourage people to seek out those pieces that they don't have. Which of course would lead to more people playing the game.
It could easily be made into something else that Xur can do for you and it can be introduced in the form of an item that he sells. It would give us something else to spend all our hoarded Strange Coins on. Just take the item that you want transmogged and the item you want it to look like to him and BAM now your guardian that looked like everyone else now looks just how you wanted them to.
OR
You could even make into a new NPC at the Tower/Reef. Create a new form of currency. You take the items that you want to put into your transmog bank/archive. Which would suddenly make blues worth getting excited over again, because I remember alot of blue armors that I got leveling that looked pretty kick ass and its better than infinitely breaking them down after a trip to that douchebag Rahool.
I am just saying that this would be an easy way to get some variety into the game and make sure that everyone's guardian feels unique. I know that Etheric light is sort of like that, but it only works on Legendaries first off and then you are stuck with stats or perks that might be entirely useless like in the case of the Crota/VoG gear.
If you think its a good idea upvote this. Lets see if we can't get enough attention on this to get some feedback from Deej or Cosmo.

This is not Destroy all Humans! So NO!
-
Easier analogy for simple comparison Vanity slots in Terraria They are simply a second set of equips that override the players appearance
-
-
Hell yeah!
-
Or just max that piece of gear.
for when ttk comes out this would be cool, but for now it isn't really needed.
-
Before you vote No, be aware that doing so makes you a bigoted Trans-Hater!!
-
Some people Really don't comprehend what you're suggesting do they. Is of course a good idea dude, got a white hunter helm I wear whenever not doing high level stuff because it looks great to me.
-
What is this diablo?!
-
Bump, have had this idea in my head for a while now.
-
No! Ruin wings are ruin wings. Just leave it. Transmog is just lying to yourself.
-
Have often thought this. This should definitely be in the game.
-
Definitely
-
The people that voted no obviously have no idea what is it and didn't even read what OP wrote out
-
even Star Wars The Old Republic is doing it now
-
Definitely! Everyone wouldn't look the same :(
-
So you want something else to nerf?
-
What I don't get is why the -blam!- wouldn't you want it in this game? Keeps old content relevant to an extent and let's you have your own look.
-
Transmogrification seems like a destiny 2 feature. This bata couldn't hang with a software change like that. (Just kidding?)
-
Yeah I get what it means but they definitely need a new name for it There's no -blam!-ing way I'm going to sit there and say transmogrification all the time
-
I would love that to be in game, would be able to have full Argus deimatic armor set while still being max level. It'd improve variety in customisation massively.
-
If anybody plays Terraria I feel they do a great job of what this game should do for the looks category. They have set equip slots for Vanity Items that make your character look the way you want to look but doesn't effect your stats, you don't waste the armor though, you can just take it off and use it again. Tldr: vanity slots for your prefered looks, but not transmit so it doesn't destroy the item.

Ummmmm........ Etheric Light?
-
Fashion souls!!!
-
How about a pre game enemy stat page to show enemy's real payload beforehand during pvp?
-
To an extent yeah, but I wouldn't be too surprised if they didn't put it in
-
That would be pretty damn nice
