You make it sound like the development of Destiny is a democracy and that Bungie just obeys the fans and it's their fault.
Take your example of auto rifles, they were broken. You could be using a scout rifle and get outgunned from medium to long distance by an auto. This was addressed not because Bungie counted the complaint threads and they numbered greater than the people who disagreed.
