Radical Exotic Prop 1.A

Okay before you bury this post with silence, stupidity or hatred hear me out. My ultimate goal is to create the richest experience you can have with weapons and armor. To do so it seems logical to create bonds between the player and his/her gear. Here is my proposal to radically alter how you equip your character. Remove all exotics. Essentially I feel as if Bungie has failed to produce exotics that feel as intended. Do not remove exotics outright but convert them all into legendaries with the exception of a few I will deem truly exotics. Introduce Crafting not reforging. Phase two of my radical proposition involves creating a slightly more robust crafting system. This is where the fun happens and where exotics are reintroduced. Players are now able to craft exotics. Players are given the tools to actually create legends as advertised. Each player is given two slots to craft one weapon ànd one piece of armor. An example of how this could play out is below. If I wanted to create a exotic shotgun I would walk up to Edgar in the tower and Edgar would have something snide and cheesy to say as I open up his menu. I then choose a quest akin to exotic bounties and the bounty board. What I am choosing is the aesthetic of my gun. In my case I wanted a shotgun. So I choose one of several quests to obtain the look I want from this gun. I do the quest find the gun and bring it back to Edgar for part two. Say I want to do solar damage with this gun? There is a quest for that. Say I want feeding frenzy? There is a quest for that. You get the point I'm sure. The more exotic the weapon gets the harder the quests become. Obvious restrictions like perk stacking would be in place. With armor you find mats to create your look using a previewer/editor akin to what they showed on a prerelease stream where they showed armor development that looked like they were playing legos. Lock it down! Phase three involves implementation of user created exotics into loot tables. essentially you have this choice to lock in a exotic and add it into the games loot system for it to become a legend. What do you think? Let's make Destiny fun!
