Either the stuff you want is with the price tag or its not. Intrinsic value is a something you determine for yourself.. There will be other exotic class items that will be in TTK, and the physical swag is awesome IMO. I understand your skepticism, though

Why would they create a collectors edition that caters more to a new player than an existing fan? If they'd drop the first two expansions and the price to like $60 if consider it. Otherwise the fans who would enjoy having the physical merch, end up with $30 worth of useless online codes, and another $30 copy of the game. It's a ploy to try to get the hard core fans to shovel more of their money into bungie's pockets.
