• I'm more surprised about ODST having ALL the multiplayer maps...

 • Great Update. Hey guys, that means that instead of making a canvas, we have to make a 'canvas' that is really all the objects just chucked to one side of the map. Nice. By the way, I am already making plans for the use of the 'KillBall'. It is called a corpseapult. -mutt

 • Nice but moar ODST info plox? Anyway... what the heck did the last line mean? "Mac cannons coming back online and charging. All station at the ready. Firing solution calculated and confirmed..." Maybe a part of ODST backstory, cut-scene or something else? Or just a line to tease us?

 •
Posted by: DEEP NNN Why say "three brand new exclusive maps"? Why not just say Heretic, Longshore and Citadel? I'm always getting confused about the Mythic Map pack contents and the Mythic Maps total number.
Because when Recon/ODST was first announced, it said it would include the Mythic Maps (Assembly, Orbital, Sandbox, Heretic, Longshore, and Citadel) and 3 other [as yet unnamed] maps. The fact that Microsoft decided to split up the Mythic release does not change the fact that there are 6 maps considered as Mythic. [Edited on 02.06.2009 3:54 PM PST]

 • Can someone explain why Lars said we could build DOWN?? There has to be some explanation there. AND, the IGN interviewer asked about the FIRST floor of Sandbox....There would be only one floor to start out with. You CAN'T use that terminology simply for two story, moveable objects. ITs not the same... Also...its described as "tiered"...meaning, more than one layer.... Explain, please. [Edited on 02.06.2009 3:55 PM PST]

 • This is a reply to a certain thread.
Chill. In a way, it doesn't really matter. You just take all the objects that are on the default map and move them to the side. It is kind of like making Lego's. You make your set. You take it apart and instead of throwing them in the giant box of other random parts, you just move them to the side of the floor where you are working and you use them if necessary. If you do throw them in the giant box filled with random parts, you will loose them and never find them again. So what that means is this. You take apart the Sandbox set. You put them in a nice neat pile on the other side of the map. You then construct something new and once you are satisfied, you delete the ones you don't have. -mutt P.S. Hey Bungie, do the other two Mythic Maps have the same 'problem'? Dude, I can't wait for the escalators.
My point is this...read the P.S. -mutt

 •
We also wanted to let you in on a little trick we learned. It turns out that all the default objects on Sandbox are automatically and irrevocably factored into the OLN. That means that if you delete them and create a blank "canvas," you won't be reclaiming those objects and you'll ultimately hit your OLN value long before you really should.
So what, did you guys screw up here or something? lol

 •
So, instead of making a "canvas," you should stack all of the original objects off to the side (spawn points included, they're also factored into the calculation), away from your build site, and save them for reuse later. That way, you'll be able to make the most out out of the total number of objects you're given to work with.
So, because of this, Sanbox will have a lot more objects available than Foundry? If so, then that's awesome!

If the later: Come on Bungie... fix the freaking map, I mean it was made around the idea of forging, so why are you letting a HUGE bug that effects forge drop into your game? You've had many months to fix this, and don't tell me you just noticed it, because this is something you should notice very early on. If the former: Great... how fun... He was probably just naming directions off of his head and didn't realize that he said "build down".
Well, then there's still the other two. When you have THREE pieces of evidence, each one supports the other. If the terminology for one is refuted in some way, the terminology for the other two can counter it. For instance, Tiered means "Layered"...What's layered about ANY of those Pictures of Sandbox?...Nothing....You have a flat floor with buildings on it. There's nothing particularly layered about it. And "First floor" would imply that there is a basement, or second story of some particular area. Blackout is layered, and has a first floor, etc. So is Guardian, I suppose. Foundry is NOT layered, and its supposed to be mostly just a flat piece for Forging. Sure you have objects to place, that CAN be placed in layers....But that's not what is insinuated here...Is there technically a first floor? Yes....can there be a second? Yes...But they were speaking of FORGING objects on the first floor... Or rather, what the layout was "IGN: What will the default layout for the first floor of Sandbox look like? What kind of gameplay is it best suited for? " [Edited on 02.06.2009 4:06 PM PST]

 • According to this clue in the Weekly Update about how long after Halo Wars is released that the first part of the Mythic Maps hits Live Marketplace: After Halo Wars LCE hits retailers, your wait won't be too much longer than the span of time between the Gettysburg's departure for Earth to warn of the Covenant invasion and Regret's slipspace jump out of the skies above New Mombasa. The first 3 Mythic maps will be available on Live Marketplace about a month after Halo Wars comes out.

I just want to know. I write...I'm a writer...When someone writes something, they usually MEAN to write it. Or say...if they are talking...Either way, slip-ups happen...But not three slip-ups from official sources. Ok...I'll admit...I won't let things go....But I think an explanation isn't out of the question....After all, if I am wrong, they'll just TELL me that I am wrong...if I am NOT wrong...their silence is confirmation enough

"Not too long after" usually doesn't mean twice as long. EDIT: Nevermind, I read the "and" as an "or". I have no idea about the length of time of the Gettsyburg. [Edited on 02.06.2009 4:14 PM PST]

All shipping maps: The Heroic Map Pack, The Legendary Map Pack, Cold Storage, The Mythic Map Pack, and three brand new exclusive maps are included.
