[Removed Feature] How to exchange materials for rep, marks, EXP(!), & glimmer (and how much you get for it)

THIS FEATURE HAS BEEN REMOVED! In its stead, you can now trade marks for materials. Since materials are so much easier to obtain now, it wouldn't make sense for them to leave the other trade option in the game. For anyone who's curious about the old option, I'll be leaving the video and text guide (below) here, just for posterity's sake. Video guide for the new material exchange: http://youtu.be/vQz_8_me5Ys
There's a lot of misinformation surrounding the material exchange. Some people don't realize that you get Marks for it, because they were capped when they tried it. Some people don't realize you get some experience points for it. Some people don't even know it's an option. So here's where they are, as well as some numbers. WHERE ARE THEY? For Vanguard rep & marks: from spawn, go to the right, through the tunnel, and to the right. He's the VANGUARD QUARTERMASTER below the shipwright. Pictured here: http://i.imgur.com/DWZRmHR.png. For Crucible rep & marks: from spawn, go downstairs, he's the CRUCIBLE QUARTERMASTER on the left. Pictured here: http://i.imgur.com/ljiA4oo.png. For both dudes, the Material Exchange option is the lowest on the list. HOW MANY THINGS DO I GET? You can trade 50 mats (spinmetal, helium filaments, spirit bloom, or relic iron) for... +25 Reputation (Crucible or Vanguard - unless you have a Faction item equipped, in which case you'll gain Future War Cult, New Monarchy, or Dead Orbit rep) +5 Marks (adds to your weekly allowance) +250 Glimmer + a fair amount of exp. In the (http://youtu.be/cKpM0tz_IC8), I show how much I gain on an exotic weapon, which takes a LOT of experience points to level up. It went from about 1/6th of a circle on a perk to about a 1/4th. Still not a huge amount, but it's noticeable. WHY THE FLIBBIDYFLOP WOULD I DO THIS? "Hang on to those mats, you'll need 'em!" I hear everyone scream. I have never farmed spinmetal, yet I have over 80 on each of my characters. I just grab them while doing public events. I'm an idiot and never bought Ice Breaker, so I have *nothing* to spend it on. So it's good if you have extra resources. There are guides that promise you can farm 200 mats an hour - but that's a little crazy. Let's say you can grab a conservative 100 mats an hour. In 10 hours, you could max out your Crucible weekly allowance by trading in all your mats, and if you do public events while farming, you could max out your Vanguard mark weekly allowance. Of course, IMHO, this would be a REALLY boring 10 hours, but it's an option. You'd also be gaining rep, exp, and some of that useless glimmer. So, if you absolutely hate Crucible, this could be a boon. Or, if for some very strange reason, you LOVE farming mats, this could also be useful. Mostly, I just think it's a very okay option for spending any mats you will never use.
Super-fast advice on where to get mats: Spinmetal in the Rocketyard on Earth. Helium Filaments in the Archer's Line on the Moon. Spirit Bloom in the Ember Caves on Venus. Relic Iron in the Scablands on Mars.
