The Taken King Breakdown/Reveal/Thoughts

Well the time was finally upon us for Bungie to reveal more information on their new expansion, for all your social media to blow up with the nerds of Destiny yelling in excitement, and for myself to break all this information down for us Guardians to consume all at once. So here's your end all, be all, breakdown for The Taken King. [i]Oryx is Pissed - The Story [/i] http://www.readyuplive.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/Destiny-Oryx.jpg Well, surprise, Oryx is vigorously upset because we've killed his son with his own sword, murdered countless Hive, and killed the Queen of the Hive herself. Now, [i]"Oryx, armed with a dark power beyond anything we've yet to face, is coming to claim is revenge." [/i] As big and as bad as Oryx might be, he's admitted and shown himself that he can't wipe out all Guardians alone so he's brought a little company to help him with this movement. Oryx has brought us new enemies to fight against called 'The Taken' which are basically the same enemies as before (Cabal and Vex) and has twisted their mind, their will, and their being to serve him.[i] "Now, they are bent on a singular purpose, our eradication." [/i]Bunker up in your ship and make sure you have enough fuel because we're going to a new planet! That's right, Oryx's ship - The Dreadnaught has deployed it's anchors deep into the heart of Saturn! As we've seen in the trailer, Guardians are sent here by the Vanguard to reckon and get more information to bring back to the Tower. Prepare yourself because along in this DLC, they'll be new Strikes, patrols, bounties, and of course more exploring around not only the Dreadnaught, but hopefully a whole new planet. [b]New Supers/Subclasses[/b] http://static1.gamespot.com/uploads/original/1539/15391776/2886513-screen+shot+2015-06-15+at+10.38.22+pm.png Someone hold me! Did you guys see those supers in that video above? My god.. Let's dive into the new subclasses and Supers for each class. [b]Nightstalker[/b]: This is the new class for the Hunters. Activating this super will cast a bow in your hands and act as a sort of support class, binding your enemies which slows them down and allows the rest of your Fireteam to bring in the needed damage. This new subclass for Hunters also provides new perks which provides a Voidwall Grenade which builds a huge wall of burning Void light, Smoke which slows down and disorients enemies, and Shadestep that provides a type of dash away from an enemy. [b]Stromcaller[/b]: The Stormcaller enables your Warlock to burst into a sort of evil Sith lord, causing enemies in his or her path to turn into mere ashes. Irrupting from his fingertips, lightning shoots out and envelops anything in it's way. Upon casting this super, your Guardian jumps into the air and is able to float midair, being able to move any which way for the duration of his Super. Even though the range that the lightning reaches seems like it has a short limit, this may be my favorite Super by far! This new subclass for the Warlock has a Storm Grenade which calls down a small lightning storm wherever you toss it, the Thunderstrike which is the new melee, which on contact electrocutes your foes, and something that is called the Perpetual Charge which is when you get a kill with your grenade that recharges your melee, and a kill with your melee recharges your grenade. [b] Sunbreaker[/b]: Well the Titan finally get's it's time to shine so to speak with this new Super. No more hiding in a bubble or smashing the ground like the Hulk. Casting this Super allows your Guardian to burst into a shield of flames and let's him wield a hammer. A HAMMER THAT'S ON FIRE! It can be thrown at targets and immediately can be retracted back. How many times it can be thrown or whether it can be used mid-air is still up for question. This new Titan subclass gives the Thermite Grenade which when thrown sends a line of fire towards your target, the Sunstrike melee which when connected ignites your enemies on fire, and the Fire Keeper which not only let's your Super lasts longer, but also allows an over shield while standing near the Sun. [b]New PvP Modes: [/b] http://gamingbolt.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/Destiny-Mayhem-Clash.jpg Now let's talk about some PvP stuff. We we're teased with two new PvP modes, with the first one being Mayhem. Mayhem is a new Crucible mode where all abilities (grenades, melees, Supers) are boosted to insane levels in regards of recovery time. With the tease that was shown we saw Supers being cast every ten seconds. I guess now we know why Bungie decided to call this new mode, Mayhem. The second new mode is called Rift, which one of the Bungie employees stated as Bungie's answers to Capture the Flag in Destiny. There will be two teams of Guardians. One who's assigned to protect their flag point, while the other team is given one member of their team to grab the ball and dunk it into the other teams flag. [b]Better in All the Right Places: The Take Away[/b] One thing you have to keep in mind is that Destiny is an MMO with a lot of future plans. What Destiny is now may not be what Destiny is three or four months from now simply because it's always a growing game. New updates, new patches, new bosses, new DLC's, new Strikes, Raids, exotics, PvP modes, and the list goes on and on. And that's not a bad thing at all. We can see how much the game has evolved since Vault of Glass or even since The Dark Below expansion. The growth behind this game is always moving. I feel as with the all the new things being added inside The Taken King, that Bungie will be pulling in and reaching more towards a larger audience.
