Bungie. WTF. (Console exclusivity) The Taken King Expansion.
Throughout the years, games have been supported by a race between Sony and Microsoft. Such support has led to either Xbox or Playstation being left out when it comes content. Examples come in the form of Batman games having "exclusive missions" or COD games getting content a month earlier. the most horrendous example is Bungie's exclusive content. Bungie released the best selling new game ever in Destiny. In the process they alienated (probably) the biggest audience when the decided to make exclusive content. I'm frustrated that content I'm paying for as an Xbone owners is being hidden behind a wall for A WHOLE YEAR. I bought a Ghost edition of Bungie's game. That's $150 bucks. Yet I feel like I was better off throwing half that money in the trash. Not only was I left out of some "epic" story, I was being subtly screwed over by a deal I didn't know would extend so far. Strikes, MP maps, Weapons, armor sets. It's enough that I have to play through the same short list of strikes over and over again to get strange coins, should additional strikes be left out? Did I not pay you the same money? For Bungie to extend this type of deal into the Taken King is a big middle finger to all of its xbox supporters. You want $40 for only a PART of an expansion. WTF? I'd be fine with waiting a whole month to play your expansion AS A WHOLE, but to be given Pieces of your expansion for the same price I feel laid out to dry. I don't know why I love your game...Hell I still support it because I think the gameplay is so great. I just don't think I can continue supporting a game I know is taking something away from me. Bungie please re-evaluate your ethics for your xbox consumers. You will not find a customer in me if you continue this business strategy.

So what if Sony kicked in extra cash to you bungie towards this game were would you be today bungie if not for Xbox players and halo honestly.....

Come on, the strikes we've gotten suck! You aren't missing any story missions (not that there's a story anyway). And we get a couple timed exclusive guns (only one of which is worth using). Plus, thanks to reforging, you can get mini versions of all the exclusive guns. You guys have Halo, so quit your whining and get used to not getting the entire game to yourself.

7 RepliesFor those who are sony fan boys, exclusivity like this is negative as a whole. It divides the community and makes players of the other console just not want to play the developers game. You're paying top dollar just like the other guy but somehow because he prefers ps over xbox he gets extra content that matches how much he payed? You payed the same so where is your content. It's bs and should be done away with for every game. Everyone should be able to enjoy the same content the game developers made for us together.

1 ReplyI am in the EXACT same boat as you my man. Its not right and its not fair. No matter how much money Sony is giving them to get people to jump ship, I will never move to PS for the exclusive content being there first. So the that begs the question of why they keep doing it. If I'm paying the same amount of money (or more in the case of a CE which I did) I expect the same amount of content as a PS user. It's not fair to your community. To top it off, according to many polls taken, Destiny is played the MOST on Xbox One. So why do you keep screwing over your player base? You're going to make the same amount of money if you were to stop doing this (which you wont because you sold yourself souls to Activision who is now riding Sony like a....well....use your imagination). Or at least make the wait shorter. A whole f-ing year? Come on! A month I can understand, but a whole year?? Sony must've really paid for your marketing for you to completely screw over not just your fanbase, but where your fanbase came from: Xbox. You have a great game here Bungie, and you need to realize you have players on both sides and just be a neutral game. I know these outcries don't matter to you, but it does to the rest of us and we need to be heard.

Before Destiny, Bungie only really had Halo...which was exclusive to X-Box for almost a decade, it seems. I feel like the PS exclusive stuff was kind of a "Sorry we took so long to get to you guys," kind of thing - at least that's how I think of it.

And while Sony invests more in Bungie while you have benefits on the game here. And a lot others more. Go whine too microsoft why they dont invest so much in the really good games. You can know that if you buy an xbox
