The Taken King: Collector's Edition Questions
This is a thread for any questions regarding the recently revealed bundles. I'll start.
1.) Is there any way to get a discount off the bundle if you've purchased the vanilla game and season pass, as the bundles both come with those things?
2.) If I were to trade in my original game and purchase the Collector's Edition, would my progress carry over?

3 RepliesI was ready to pay for TTK as soon as I saw the trailer, but when I saw that the collectors edition had those extra in game items I knew that was what I wanted. When I noticed its price and the fact that it contained original game and both dlc's which of course I already own. I looked for an edition to get these in game items and TTK only to no avail. I still have not purchased the expansion and won't until this is resolved. It seems bungie\activision are cutting their noses off to spite their face!

2 RepliesOk I was thinking of getting an Xbox one but I want to keep my 3 34 characters and all my weapons so can I transfer it from the Xbox 360 to Xbox one or is that not possible, also do I have to rebut all the DLC's when year 2 starts?? Thank you

Smith was an assclown, telling the interviewer (among other things) that, "If I fired up a video right now and showed you the emotes you would throw money at the screen." I feel that day one loyal players are essentially getting screwed over by Bungie. Dont get me wrong there's nothing wrong with Bungie having this collectors edition to get new players into the game but for those of us that have been loyal to Destiny should be able to get a bundle with just the taken king rather than us buy the CE and getting f*cked over because we have to re-buy all of our content. I just don't get it.

It was unfortunate that I was not able to purchase the Ghost edition, so this time around I do not want the chance to buy a collector's edition pass me by again. I am not sure if it was asked or not, but I propose this: The problem: I want to buy the collector's edition, but I do not need the original game and Expansions I & II. Possible Solution: Make two versions of the collector's edition. One with the original game and Expansions I & II and one without the old content. I hope that doesn't sound sarcastic, but it seems very simple. As for the Year 1 goodies...hopefully another way can be used to determine Year 1 players other than selling a "digital version" of the game. I personally want the collector's edition and my Year 1 goodies, without purchasing an extra copy of the original game and expansions. I also want to say that I do not completely blame Bungie and turn my gaze at Activision. I see Activision as a "member of the family" when speaking about the gaming industry, however they are the family member that is a bit stone-hearted out of necessity. I feel this is mostly an Activision fumble. To my fellow gaming comrades, I say we bring our voice to Activision's door step as to echo in Robert Kotick's ear with feedback in a logical, passionate, and intelligent manner!

I pre-ordered the limited edition of Destiny when it was announced and still don't feel I got my money's worth. Why bother buying the Legendary or Collector's Edition if you're going to give everyone the same stuff for upgrading to the DLC. It makes the Xbox CE worthless unless you add the same offers as the PS4 CE gets to make the $80 worth it. Yes I understand there is exclusivity with PlayStation and the extra content, but come on add some exclusive stuff for Xbox gamers.

I was planning on buying the collectors edition with all the present dlcs and TTK, but my question was this: Will I be able to get Destiny with the dark below and house of wolves now, then get the code and all the collectors edition stuff when TTK comes out? Or will I have to wait until TTK comes out to the disk?

1 ReplyMHO..I Love This game but this new Collectors edition is awesome for anyone new but down right offensive to anyone who bought the original CE or Ghost edition, I mean If we want all the new in game content we have to pay $80 for a whole new copy and all the dlc which we already purchased and thats not Okay in the slightest but l'll pay $40 thats not a issue and thats just how i feel

I agree with lazydogweb why dont the older consoles get a collectors edition with physical merchandise. I mean I got the original collectors edition and now I cant get the new one, the main reason I want the collectors edition is for the physical part of it but I have to get the digital version for the same price and get half the shit

Not sure who's the root of the problem but Bungie and/or Activisions been trying to milk the Destiny cash cow since day one. Now they're doing this horse shite that will aggravate all loyal fans who bought the game and the two expansions before TTK. Either way, Bungie is doing something very wrong and pretty much violating their loyal fanbase with the sodomy stick of economics. I just hope, I really do, that Bungie will give us a Collector's Edition that prevents us loyal fans from rebuying the games and its two first DLCs but, sadly, I really doubt they will.

Currently I'm on PS3, but at least with me it will be cheap to go next gen. If I got Destiny too early I would've spent around 120 for the Collector's Edition and Destiny.

1 ReplyI really hope Bungie does something about this, because from what I've seen so far, many of the people who have remained loyal to the game thus far are feeling left out. The fact that we would need to buy a second copy of all of the content we already have in order to get the unique shaders, exotic class items, and class emotes is making us confused. I'm wondering if those things will come as a thank you package much like they sent out after both TDB and HoW. There is no indication of this so far though, and there should definitely be an option for those of us who want those unique game items without having to re-purchase all of our existing content. Bungie, please make a "Digital Vanity Edition" or some statement letting us know that players who purchase TTK will be rewarded with these unique items!

2 RepliesWhat amazes me is that if you were a day 1 player and gotten the DLCs to date, you spent about $95 ($60 for Destiny and $35 for the season pass). They say a deal for us old players is paying $40 for this Taken King. So we are paying in total around $135. Yet the collectors edition coming out which contains the vanilla game and all DLC including Taken King plus extras will be $80. I just don't get the logic here.

1 ReplyThe taken king collectors edition was exclusive to GameStop, and it appears it is now sold out. At least the physical collectors edition is, but let's be honest, who wants to pay the same price for the digital collectors edition and not get the physical collectibles. This makes me sad, I had it pulled up ready to buy at work but decided to wait til I got home, and it was sold out in that time period!

I am also very upset about this price. I understand wanting to give new people a chance and all, but I feel the collector's edition with all the physical items is more aimed at the hardcore fans who already own the game. Is there anything we can get besides a copy of the same things we own?
