Cross-posted from /r/destinythegame) [b]WHAT THIS IS[/b] My attempt at providing a way to enjoy the experience of a flawless, full Trials run of 9 games and 0 losses, plus poking around Mercury at the end (including various secret areas) the way a player might when they went there for the first time. Except this is in movie form, through the use of the exotic HelmCam of Saint-14. [b]WHAT THIS IS NOT[/b] A cliché Destiny video filled with all kinds of self-aggrandizing nonsense, long clan intros no one cares about, the phrases "this is your boy with another Destiny video" or "like and subscribe" or "follow me on Twitch" or anything like that. In fact there are no splash screens or intros or talking at all and if you run into an ad of any kind it's because Youtube forced it on you as I definitely selected no ads. I'm not a streamer and I'm not building a viewer base, I'm just a regular player like you and this is purely for community enjoyment. Thus it is just straight up gameplay, no fuss. [b]WHY[/b] Every single day I see posts about going 0-3 in Trials, I will never get there, this is impossible, no sherpa is good enough to carry me, etc. Thing is Trials is a great piece of content, and Mercury is coolest, most relaxing place in Destiny. Week 1 on Burning Shrine I decided to record every game I played and ended up recording a 9-0 run (actually 7-1 with boons). Going back and watching it was actually a lot of fun. That combined with the disheartened posts on this sub gave me the idea of trying to do a full 9 game run and record it. It wasn't easy and required a bit of luck: 1. Beating every team we faced 2. No disconnects, accidental or otherwise 3. No one on the other team quitting, which if you played in Trials Week 2 you know was at pandemic levels. It's a free win, but it ruins an attempt to do a movie. All told, this took about 9 hours to put together, mostly due to all the quitting and disconnects or teammates having to leave, and the stars didn't align until late Monday night during the last hours of Trials. A shout out to my teammates Yattimonster and Bilkos_Ices for their help. Believe it or not, I had never played with them before this. I went looking on LFG for a couple guys with good stats and good attitudes to give this one last shot, and lucked out in finding a couple buddies who fit that bill and were looking for a third man. Finally, I screwed up my Mercury exploration recording and had to wait until this weekend to reshoot the whole thing before I could complete the project. Why I'm presenting it a week late. [b]FULL DISCLOSURE[/b] We played 12 wins back to back and that run is what the 9 games are taken from, but they're presented as a logical progression rather than chronological order. My teammates were starting fresh passages, but I already had a 4-0 card from a previous attempt and opted to continue that card rather than get a fresh one. Naturally, I kept playing after the first passage was finished. They are edited to be presented as games 1-9 instead of 5-9 and then 1-4.
