NERF . THE . THORN .
There is essentially no counter to the Thorn and virtually very miniscule amount of primary weapons that compete with it. I see too many times that players use the Thorn play cowardly. Land two shots and run, instead of staying in a gunfight. For the sake of my sanity, nerf the Thorn. Getting killed with it too many times in Iron Banner.

Someone should start a petition to nerf the thorn. That him alone pretty much ruins pvp for me.

If they fixed the auto rifles they should fix the thorn. It's the same issue

Just buff the autos back to their glory and everything will be fine.

2 RepliesHush little baby don't you cry, Thorn's gonna sing you a lullaby. Two straight shots to your head, to make sure you wind up stone-cold dead. And if that good ol' Thorn don't kill, Damage Over Time will make sure it will. Fusions and shotguns don't you fret, post mortem kills is what we'll get. And if you're still alive, be-ware. There's plenty more Thorns in the Garden out there.

Really you guys should just learn how to defend against it, honestly have you ever thought about taking the engagement at a better time, most people follow bait on the crucible so you could get hit back out and set up a better way to fight them on your terms especially if they follow you, having someone chase you on destiny is far more beneficial in the hands of the runner, if your skilled enough you could draw him in close without even him knowing it

6 RepliesThorn started out nerfed. Bungee explicitly stated that Thorn was not strong enough given the level of difficulty to acquire it and buffed it. It works as intended. I was a Vex user and often melted Thorn users. I switched to Thorn this week. It's not as OP as people think. You still have to aim and get head shots. I've been torn up by good Vex or Red Death users that fire accurately while juking back and forth making it harder to hit them. Hand cannons are slow rate of fire so if you miss once in a fight and can spell your doom. Twice, you are dead. So Thorn still requires aiming and accuracy to use well. Thorn can also get overwhelmed by multiple attackers.

Agreed that gun needs to have something done to it. Everyone and their mother is abusing it in ToO and IB right now, its so annoying...

So I guess you don't use a gjallerhorn. The most powerful gun in the game. The whole PVE community wants that gun because it kills fast and does a lot of damage. The gjallerhorn is a crutch weapon. How about putting away the big rocket launcher and just use your primary.

It sucks ass, like the crutch-using slobs that use them religously, but it can easily be countered with 2 words: Scout Rifle High alpha damage, better accuracy at range, and it doesn't make you look like a little bitch. Quit rushing objectives, stand back and pop them off. They'll get tired of getting killed, change directions, and make poor decisions. That's where you start to capitalize on mistakes and impose your will upon them.
