Ugh, I think it sounds so much worse. I really liked the named Halo 3: Recon. Halo 3: ODST sounds so clunky and doesn't describe the game further than the character you play as. Halo 3: Recon is a much more descriptive title, and I think explains it more. Actually, I hate this name so much, not to be a drama queen, I'm having second thoughts about it. I can't have a game with that painful a title, same reason I decided not to get Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts. Bungie, just because a title makes an important aspect of the game blatantly obvious doesn't mean it's a good title. Recon covered more of an intelligent summarization of the game. Good titles have more than one meaning. Look at Left 4 Dead: -Zombie killing, they are some of the only survivors = Dead -There are four of them = Dead -They have been left behind, and are trying to escape = Left (Fun fact: The Hand on the cover... Is a LEFT hand! Get it! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha... )

Halo 3: Recon sounds cooler than Halo 3: ODST, but Halo 3: ODST sounds more like what the game is about. Any other way I'll still get the game.

Meh, Recon was better in my opinion. It rhymes now which sounds awful.. Halo 3: ODST, ugh it almost makes me want to throw up at how dorky it sounds. You could like, start a chant of it at a sports game, that's how bad it is. Recon is a bit overused in the video game world, so i understand the motivation. But honestly, they could have done way better than something that sounds like its straight out of a poem... Halo 2: Royal Blue!!!! they call it Halo 3: ODST because its almost identical as halo 3, but ur playing as a ODST and ur not master cheif. there is new weapons, maps and etc but its still basically halo 3.

As long as I can kill Elites again (which seems like a fair guess. After all, it takes place around the same time as Halo 2), get new multiplayer maps, and r3c0nz you can call it Halo 3: Poob Squad! Can't wait for Halo 3: Rec I mean ODST.

What motivated this change? It's like when the Nintendo Revolution suddenly became Wii. An apt name that embodied everything Nintendo intended for the new console, to a name that sounds like a slang word for urine. Now all of a sudden Recon has become ODST. I guess in the grand scheme of things it makes no difference, and it does make sense considering the main protagonist is an ODST. But Recon just sounded so much cooler, and rolled off the tongue, unlike the rather clunky acronym we've been given now. Whenever talking about ODST's, I always say marines simply because it's easier to say, and some people might not understand what I'm talking about. Conversation involving the new game will now be a little more awkward. The name could change again, but for now I think I'd rather call it Recon.

Hate the new name, boring. Recon was beefy sounding. They wight as well have named it Halo 2.5. Also, Bungie, work on that identity a little more will ya, its very WEAK. Especially the right justified 'ODST'. Sits to tight to the Halo wordmark. Painful to look at. I'm sure it will be updated before release obviously.
