Small arms and specialist modifiers

These two modifiers respectively say "primary weapon damage is favored" and "special weapon damage is favored". It's claimed that this doubles the damage if the favored weapon types which i seemed to notice. But nowhere are there details on if the other weapon types have a damage penalty. In the weekly heroic and PoE it felt like my primaries weren't doing much damage, which i first attributed to having crappy legendary primaries. But after pulling out my machine guns to hide down some shielded majors it felt they were not taking nearly as much damage as usual from a 331 attack gun on an equally leveled character. Anyone have info on this or am i just a mad, old warlock?

  • Well in either case, it says that primary or special is Favored, reason being that it is favoured over other weapon types which have been slightly lowered by 25%

  • You're right. I made the connection a while ago, when my Summoner wasn't doing as much damage as I was used to. Declined from 120 to 90, so I'd assume it's a 1/4 decline.

  • The description says that primary weapon damage is favored, which doesn't really talk about a penalty to the other types. I think you're right though. I believe the I yet types do less damage when one of these modifiers is active.

  • This would explain allot. My word of crota was 1 shotting during poe 34 round 4, but it would take 5 gally shots to kill a target, and a whole clip of matador ammo would'nt even take the targets shields down.

  • I got that same impression.
