That's kind of odd, I've been working on making a wallpaper out of that exact screenshot they're using in the update. It was tricky to get it because the flash is so fast and I didnt have a frame-2-frame tool so I had to pause a billion times to get it right. As for the update, good Q and A. Great update. Maybe now people will stop asking for all these crazy things they want in the H3R Multiplayer even though it doesn't exist. Its just the Halo 3 multiplayer.

It will also include a new map pack that is yet to be released on the marketplace.

Actually, if the H3R price is decent, I might wait to get the Mythic Map Pack included with that since it might be a better deal than the 20-something dollars I pay for the ythic Map Pack alone. I would say the price would be around $50. Good job! I really love Bungie and keep it up!

I would enjoy it if the game was made to EARN the M rating. Make it as violent and realistic as possible.

I am really glad that Halo 3 Recon will be campaign only, and that there will be Halo 3 (over all) maps coming with that. Clears a bit up for me.

Great update!! Still a little confused with the new achievements, are the skulls on the multiplayer maps? It will be interesting to find out more. I really hope I won't have to stare at those achievements in angst for a whole year!!!

It really doesn't require that much work, seeing as how it is an expansion and most of the base code is already there. It is ambitious because it isn't 3+ years after Halo 3 came out, but if Bungie was only working on this, we could probably have it in 2 or 3 months seeing as how they started 7 or 8 months ago. The ambition lies not with the actual project, but with the fact that they are working on more than one project, and so skew the previous model where they worked on one project for at least 3 years, released it and focused on the next project for the next 3 years.

When playing as the ODST Trooper do you get "Shields" like in Halo CE 2 and 3, or will the screen go red when you are close to dieing and you hide like a noob untill you're all healed like in COD4?

Sweet update. I hope this clears up alot of questions. I actually have one right now... With Recon being an add-on, would it be possible to release new armour via the new disc? If I understood everything correctly, you will be able to play Halo 3 Multiplayer on the Recon Disc. If this is true, it would be awesome to have new armour available for everyone.

The multiplayer maps are all part of the Halo 3 "title ID" family, regardless of where or how you get them." [/i] -Will Recon have the original maps as well? Could someone with Recon play on Sandtrap against someone who has Halo 3? -Also, if you bought Mythic in Winter then got Recon in Fall wouldn't you be paying for the same maps twice?

Good update. The only small letdown is that we have to wait until next year for the new maps. I guess sense there are six maps (according to the achievements) there will be a longer delay. I just hope the delay isn't too long. Can't wait for more info!

Will the network coding for multiplayer campaign in Halo 3: Recon be any better than Halo 3? It runs quite laggy for me and my friends when we play, and were all in the same city.

What about game appearance? Are we going to see an improvement in graphics or a change in art style? I understand using the same engine, but If we're talking Fall '09, Halo 3: Recon's graphics are going to have to be a step up from Halo 3 to compete with everyone else out there...

It sucks that we have to wait till early 09 for the Mythic Map Pack. But I bet it's going to kick ass.
