What do you think, community? Despite the best efforts of the powers that be, #community is still largely overrun by LFG, nerf-this-buff-that, Jellyhorns, and all else Destiny. I know some people still post regularly, some are still hunkered down in the private groups they fled to after the site redesign and/or Destiny launch, and some have jumped ship entirely.
Has the community forum lost its purpose, or has it simply hit a rough patch in the wake of two rather turbulent paradigm shifts?

This seems like a question better served with another question: If the community is dead or dying, what do we do to bring it back, or make a new and better one?
-
Bring back the stickies so the newbs know what to do and what not to do.
-
I think personally we've just hit a rough patch and could make a comeback. But this could just be me being hopeful.
-
Nah, just very very very different from how it used to be.
-
A lot of the core content and interaction has moved into private groups, largely, I think, because a lot of the new generation interact way differently. It's sad not seeing all the public jokes, but still get to look forward to seeing everyone at various PAXs

Maybe

The old Community? Pretty much. The #Community is now and has been #Destinyforumsublevel22 (yes there really are 21 other #Destiny related sub forums) It is of absolutely now purpose any longer. Every thread there should be filtered back to the proper #Destiny sub forum that they belong in, but no one gives a damn anymore to do anything about it.

Edited by KingInTheNorth: 5/19/2015 9:31:57 PMYes, the Community is dead and Bungie.next is the killer.

It's not dead, but it's nowhere near active (alive). The main reason I could think of is that half of the forum is inaccessible to people who don't have Destiny, which kind of promotes a bit of elitism, now that I think about it. Groups are barely keeping the site afloat, unless the entire site is allowed to be accessible to people who don't own Destiny. Come on, I'm not going to log out of this account just to go on my Destiny account just to post in those forums. I'm not willing to take those many steps because I could simply talk to my friends in my group rather than responding to questions that some Destiny players have. Call me greedy, but I'd rather have communication with my friends than talk on a dying forum.

No just stupid

Ayyy I haven't been to this website in years what happened everything is gone.

Community forum is nothing but destiny now unfortunately. Everyone else moved over to offtopic and gaming.
rip community

you lived a good life

your phone just crashed
Subliminal bump to prove my participation.
-
Still alive kicking, screaming, puking, complaining, and getting along

The community forum as we knew it before Destiny is pretty much dead in my opinion. I'd like to think that it could return to that one day, but the way it looks now I'm not too hopeful.
-
It died off with the community we had once the site changed. Now it's all about LFG and social media.
-
We're just hiding like the gamer girls :3
-
It died after the site was overhauled.

Go on twitch and watch king gothalion or professor broman, they have 3000 viewers easily every day each, that shows that there is a good healthy community, then look at this forum, there are plenty of people still here!

Edited by Lolmenade: 5/7/2015 12:06:15 AMI guess. As soon as the website changed to what it is now I've stopped visiting as frequently as I did. This is my first time logging on in a year I think. The new layout doesn't appeal to me. I'm probably not alone. Or maybe I am. Maybe I'm just picky :(

I see the remnants of a once great place, and ask myself what happened here? How did this mighty civilization fall? who were its heroes? what are its stories? Who struck it down?
-
This "community" is full of 5 year olds

No idea. I am not a good judge.
