Neat idea, but a few things about it that confuse me. The first is just a simple error that makes it sound like the ahamkara is sentient and is the reason the fallen are enslaved. “Used by(?) the ahamkara" did you mean “on"? The second one is the fact that a vex hydra serves as a minor boss in the raid. That would raise some- no, a lot of alarm. It also opens this whole so-called stand alone raid up to some missions revolved around looking for vex artifacts on earth. You said you wanted it to not be tied to an expansion of any sort, but the way you describe it makes me think it would the focal point of an expansion DLC.

In the lore of the game, which I have done a bit of research into but am by no means an expert on, so I may be incorrect, the Ahamkara race was killed off by humans not because they were evil, but because we were not sure they were good. The Ahamkara had a history of amoral and capricious behavior (by human standards) either helping or hurting as the whim took them. I imagine that a member of such a race would not have second thoughts about going out and gathering up whatever servants they deem necessary to maintain one of their properties. The idea I had is an Ahamkara went out and took then reprogrammed a vex Hydra to serve as a home server for their hoard. They also grabbed then reprogrammed some fallen Servitors turning them into Slavery units who recruited whatever was around, and in time this became a self sustaining process. Over time the only ones left to take were Fallen and Hive, so they are the only current inhabitants of the Legacy. Currently Ahamkara armor, which is literally the bones of an Ahamkara, is the only armor which speaks to the person wearing it. Each piece of Ahamkara armor has a line in the description of "oh bearer mine". If the bones of a dead Ahamkara retains some level of sentience imagine what they could have been capable of in life. While I would love to see an Ahamkara DLC this idea stands alone just as the Vault of Glass stands alone. It is not tied into the main storyline and is just there to be exploited

  • I don't remember ever seeing any information like that. You mind giving me a link to where you got your information? I was under the impression that ahamkara were a species of wild animal hunted for sport.

  • https://m.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/2hlzva/lets_discuss_the_ahamkara_space_dragons/ Here is a good introduction. There was a great youtube video on the Ahamkara done by the same guy who got front page recognition for the Crota lore, but I will have to look for it
