Evidende points to this side story not including the Chief... but there is no reason to believe that there isn't some connection between this and the "Believe" hype campaign pre Halo 3 release... I'm just speculating

It is a Scarab factory. All maps will probably be MP, but only some will actually be in the campaign too. At least, that's what I hope.

Here's something possibly very important that I noticed in the trailer. Look at the last HEV pod dropping from the sky at the very end. When it appears there's a slipspace looking flash were the pod originates from. Maybe it could possibly be from the Dawn? Who knows. But that's just my wild theory. There's alot of stuff in this teaser we should look into.

To add to my other post this starts at this part of halo2 and ends beginning of halo3 . An expansion prequel ? Any thoughts.

I do think its the city right when they jump into slipstream in HALO 2 not 3. Google "Field Expedient" to see cut scene. Now that looks like it destroys everything in the city that was already fought on. Looks like a second wave of odst or backup was dropping as the thing went off killing all of those or most. The one at the end is a special pod. I feel this is the pod with the nco that the s1 wanted in the previous cryptic post. Pardon our dust. This is another spartan, I don't see how it could be the chief but maybe I'm wrong but not sure where he was when this was going on. Maybe this parallels what is happening to the chief as you play the -blam!- arbiter levels from halo 2. This is not going to be a tactical shooter this is going to be a spartan searcihng for maddie. Maddie being a thing or the oni officer from the pardon our dust quote. Then fun ensues for six levels. Maybe I'm wrong.

About the Spartan III, i wouldent think so, most of them died on onyx, leaving a hand full stached away in cryo pods by sentinels. Only to be rescued by the remaining Spartan II in the "Maginot spere". The drop pods however, about being sentinels, It was actualy my first guesse, but it proved to be wrong.

I think that possibly we're looking at drop pods of spartan 3s. It's a far fetched idea, but possible nonetheless. I saw a covenenant ship on the horizon just before the EMP was " triggered ". The AI showed it gein triggered as if set as a trap of some sort. I think that some of those pods could also be covenant. Would offer an alternative explanation to the two different directions. Also the AI focues in on one group in particular. In regard to maddie being a lost Spartan, I don't recall one named Maddie from any of the 4 books. There are spartans all over the galaxy at various times in the story arc. Just depends on the time were looking at here. Clearly it's before the space elevator was destroyed.ihalf expected these "drop pods" to be sentinels from planet Onyx. We do know there are several spartan3s and one spartan 2 on that planet in a sheild world dimension.

True, but he's the only one that knows the answer [i]at the start of Second Sunrise[/i]. The whole point of him giving the PDA away is to get the word out to the UNSC. Now obviously the UNSC hasn't figured out exactly what the Ark portal is until Halo 3, but they do know it's important, and that could by why Miranda Keyes is focusing on organising the resistance in this particular part of the world. The ODSTs getting a hold of the PDA might be what convinces UNSC FLEETCOM to order Keyes to do this. Maybe?
