An open letter to Deej about the raids
Dear Deej,
In your wishes for Destiny thread, you mentioned that you didn't want to hear about Vault space and the raid glitches, because those questions have been all over the forums, and you've been made aware. However, since there seems to be increased communication recently, I was wondering if there was anything you could tell us about the raid glitches and bugs.
Personally, due to bugs and glitches I've been screwed out of at least two crota drops. I only have one completion on hard this week because of bugs and glitches. I understand these issues are tricky to sort out, and i know it takes time to even figure out what is wrong, but I haven't even seen them be acknowledged with a "yeah we're working on it" line or something similar. Is there anything you can tell the community moving forward that would put in perspective what the issues are facing both raids and what work, if any, is being done to resolve them. Its so bad that i sincerely hate the new raid. I dread doing it. And that's not what I want to feel.

1 ReplyIt would be cool if before each raid, during and after it, the "Ghost" the Speaker or other person, say something. An introduction to the raid. For example the "Vault of glass" - We have received a notice from the Speaker. There is a strange and powerful force hidden inside Venus. We have to open the gates of "Waking Ruins" and find whatever is inside. He had confided in you, and the city too. You will not disappoint them, you are our last hope - For example "Crotas End" - Guardian. It has been impossible to avoid the resurrection of Crota. He has called all his hordes and plans to end the world as we know it. We need you traveling to the deepest dark of the moon. Find him and destroy him before it's too late -

So in my opinion this is the difference between having a in game matchmaking and what we use today outside of the game for group matching. Today's way of endgame matchmaking. 1-Pick up phone 2-find lfg app that's wasting space on my phone 3- find a group that doesn't require the freaking gjallarhorn because I dont have one 4- once you find the group go into the message friend option on the console 5- try to spell the extremely long and ridiculous name of the person in charge of the group. 6- wait for response 7-get no response 8- repeat steps 1 through 6 9- finally get response 10- get Into group 11- halfway through RANDOM group people go afk or group fails. 12- repeat steps 1 through 11 The way it should be...... 1- start game 2- push matchmaking button 3-play game 4-have fun The elite payers can still have their premade games, people can still solo and the none elites can have matchmaking we all win!!!! All I ask is for the option.

Deej, if by some chance you read this I have pretty much figured out what the issue is with the raid. It has very little to do with glitches or bad programming. It has to do with connection speeds between players. The raids simply do not report on screen what is happening correctly to all players and makes for a pretty confusing experience especially when there are a specific amount of hits that have to happen on a boss like Crota. I think a lot of problems could be fixed by simply tuning down the aggression of the enemies in the hard mode raids. The enemies response times are so fast that certain players in the raid do not witness what is happening at the correct time. For instance, a lot of players think the Crota will hit a hunter on the platform when he is invisible, but the reality is, Crota wasn't actually on his knee even though he appeared to be on the sword runner's screen. If the net code can't handle The syncing required for players to have some common idea of what is happening in the raid, then the simple fix is to tune down the aggression of the enemies in general. I can promise that this would not completely destroy the difficulty of the raid.

I just hate not being able to get 6 people to stick around long enough to complete a raid.

4 RepliesI beat Crota hard several times every week. Sometimes with a full fire team. Most notable with four players (on hard of course.) this last week. My crew and I ran the entire raid easy mode three times in just over an hour. To obtain weapons not yet dropped into our grasp. Next evening again three times on hard. Lol. Have a good crew. Get your strat down. Give or take 50 completions half or more on hard. Glitches haven't been an issue. If they ever become one. We orbit and fly in again. Boomers are the problem. And that gate keeper under the crystal room. Idk what else to say. Get a strat that the entire team knows and is competent in completing.

3 RepliesThis is one of the reasons I haven't even attempted the Crota raid. I don't have too much time to play since I have a full time job; it's way too time consuming and annoying to ask people on the forum to raid; people can be impatient and unwilling to teach the raid to noobs like me; and the raid can take hours to complete. All of that and there's a good chance the raid will be bugged at the end and will have been a waste of time? No thank you.

I have experienced the same. when the raid first came out everything was based off of the hosts connection if I remember right. ever since that patch that prevents crota from being down when you pull the plug, lag has became a much larger issue. I have no idea what the right answer is. I don't think people want a raid where you can down right cheat. At the same time a lot of glitches are more annoying than everyone pulling the plug.

I will try to remember somethings that went wrong on my Crota's End: 1 - You kill SwordKeeper, but nobody can take the sword - Its there we can see but can't pick it up 2 - You kill SwordKeeper, but the sword disappears - Just kill the guy and the sword has gone 3 - After activate the crystal some enemys pass thru the glass and also return thru the glass - If they can pass thru, so can we 4 - After kill the ogre, some slaves can kill us thru the external glass 5 - Crota can see and folow an invisible hunter - not so important but when we are almost killing Crota and this happen, its really boring 6 - Crota came inside crystal room - one or two times this has occurred to me 7 - Heavy ammo bug or whatever it is - Wait for start the raid is too boring, remove that bug/glitch

1 Replyhonestly its why I no longer play this game PVP in destiny SUCKS and raiding is nothing but an expensive waste of time I have lost count on the number of times crotas end hard mode has been a wash because of sword issues connection issues & the numerous bugs associated w/ crota himself players are left w/ NO recourse for their troubles but when some whining ass noob crys about getting owned by a rifle in pvp bungie moves heaven & rarth to do something about it ... no wonder over 50 % of players have left this game for good

2 RepliesI dread Crota bc of the glitches. Not only is it a challenge to do everything well, but swords falling into the map ruin a perfect run. At least Atheon takes it like a man with my black hammer. F that slippery sword!
