Comet Speculation

I think that the major expansion will cost somewhere between $20-40, and it will include: - 12 Story Missions (w/cutscenes?) - 4 new Strikes - 1 new type of Public Event - 1 new Patrol (New location possibly?) - 1 new Raid (maybe another one that they haven't made yet. This is a big expansion after all.) - 6 PvP maps - 3 new factions (Seven Seraphs, Eye of Osiris, and Forces of the City?) - 3 new player subclasses (1 new one for each class) - Base level will be changed to 30 - Hive Ship (What's curious to me about this is that the House of Wolves DLC has the Reef listed in the same category as the Hive Ship, but House of Wolves doesn't have a new Patrol. Maybe the Hive Ship is a new social area like the Reef is going to be? But what about the new Patrol then? New planet, or just a new Patrol in a new part of a planet already available?) That's all the info I could gather. Any speculation and info you guys find, please post it below.

  • It should cost $20, will probably cost $40. Should give Xbox 2-3 strikes and 1 additional to PS4. increased difficulty raids need to come out 2 months after HoW to keep community attention while waiting for comet. Vault space doubled. A minimum of 12 new story missions, 9 of which in unrecycled territory. A new horde like game mode. 3 new crucible maps.

    • My hopes are for a huge, free expansion. Following the footsteps of the MMO formula, even those games release new content to free players. This way, players who pay for DLC like DB or HoW still get exclusive content while those willing to stick around without paying are rewarded for all their grinding in vanilla-destiny. This keeps the (entire) community busy with new content while providing exclusive gear and missions to those willing to cough up cash. I predict: 3rd sub-class for each character 2 new strikes New raid New raid gear and exotics as appropriate Potential new social space (maybe not if the reef hits with HoW) A few new PvP maps I don't think we'll see any new planets. I foresee this happening with newer full titles like Destiny 2 or whatever they end up calling it.

      What Comet Should Have..worth $40 -16 New Story Mission -6 Strikes -4 Public Events -20 New Bounties (Good Ones) -PvP gone and all PvE -Crucible turned into Survival wave type game defending the wall -2 New Raids both at least VoG length -lvl 38 lvl cap -Nightmare mode ( lvl 32 Strikes with no checkpoints) so if you die you start over! - VoG and CE get super hard mode lvl 36 gear! - 2 new planets (Mercury and Jupiter's Moon) -Three new factions! -Open World easter egg! Like find pieces of *blank* to craft legendary *blank* - Planets have more areas to explore! And more enemies spawn! Majors and Ultras Roam -FIX ALL THE DAMN BUGS! -Make use of Asc. Materials (190 shards for no reason!) - Vendor Weapons stay that same with ability to roll them! -10 New exotics weapons/10 New exotic armor per class / exotic class items and ships/ ghost shells and exotic shaders( only from raids)

      • Would love to see different enemy types, preferably with new AI. The hive knight spin move doesn't faze me like it did in September.

      • I have heard it will be free. But I have no source, it's in another thread where it is being discussed. My biggest concern is the 3rd Subclass for each class. Below is what i'm hoping for. Titan - Solar Hunter - Void Warlock - Arc Titan solar ability - Rocket Punch: Titan lunges forward (similar to the shoulder charge but further) and smashes a fiery fist into the enemy. Hunter void ability - Shadow Clone: Create a shadow copy of the hunter which acts as a distraction for enemies. Warlock arc ability: Chain Lightning: A bolt of lightning arcs from the warlock connecting with the target and bouncing to 2 near by enemies. I think the above would be really neat, and I don't think they are too OP. What do you all think? Too much? Too little?

      • I'm still waiting for the $100 already spent to feel worth it. Bungie will need to improve/fix the current game before I'd spend any more cash. As of now this Commit is DOA for allot of us. Godspeed Bungie. If they can't bridge the missing content then refocus on game reform: improve risk verses reward, lessen grind, and making weapons have category roles over blatant imbalances. A perfectly fun incomplete game would be better than a full un-fun game anyways. It feels like their efforts are too focused on the next cash cow instead of making the best product they can. Right now all the advertisements were lies. I be pretty grateful if they'd make an effort to turn that around.
