Hello fellow guardians! I’ve been seeing quite a few talented individuals post some fan fiction in chapters and I think it’s awesome. Other sci-fi universes have expanded universes, so why can’t we? That being said, I decided to try my hand at writing about the upcoming Comet update, and what I though would be cool. **Disclaimer** I am loosely basing this off grimoire, but this has no factual basis and has no correlation to what comet will actually be about **Disclaimer 2** All rights to characters or content mentioned clearly belongs to me because I work for Bungie and haz recon. Duh. Jk, thanks Bungie for supplying me with a great universe to expand upon. So without further disclaimers Chapter 1: [i]The Guardian’s jumpship glides through slip space, the destination set to the Guardian Tower[/i] Ghost: I have received a transmission from the Speaker. He states there is an urgent matter to attend to, and we must see him right away. Guardian: Did he say anything else? Ghost: No, you know how cryptic he can be. [i]The jumpship bursts out of a slip space rupture and dives through the atmosphere of Earth. The craft coasts over the sprawling city around the base of the tower and suddenly pulls up sharply, aiming right for the door to the Tower hanger. The scene cuts to the Guardian walking into the Speaker’s gyroscopic observatory, as Ghost materializes and floats behind him. The Speaker dismisses Commander Zavala, and gestures to the Guardian to walk over.[/i] Speaker: I see you received my message Guardian. Guardian: Ghost rarely misses them. Speaker: Yes well, it’s good that he didn’t. You come at a time of need once again Guardian. You did well to quell the dark heart within the Black Garden, but I’m afraid it may have once again manifested itself. Guardian: What’s happened? Speaker: Yesterday, we received reports that our relay station on Mercury was assaulted. The culprits are unknown, but we received this transmission. Ghost, if you will. Ghost: Transmission received, playback commencing. Exo voice: They’re everywhere! I’ve never seen this many! I don’t understand. They shouldn’t be here! The researchers Master Rahool sent have been killed, I’m not sure how many Guardians are still… [i]A guttural cry plays in the background, and suddenly the guardian is silent. More shrieks are heard as the transmission ends. [/i] Speaker: We haven’t gotten anything else. The station was meant for research. They had begun tracking a comet that was moving through our galaxy after recently entering from the deep fringe of unknown space. This comet may hold answers to what lies far beyond our reach. Guardian: Do you want me to go investigate the station? Speaker: Go speak with Commander Zavala. He will provide you with mission details. May the travelers light illuminate your way Guardian. [i]The cutscene ends and the Guardian is in the usual starting area of the tower, a new quest point appearing in the distance, presumably above Zavala’s head. [/i] This is what I envision as the opening cut scene to Comet. I’ve already begun to hash out further details, but I’m going to write more chapters in the future. Thanks for reading.
