The Official "I've been sent to Banadu" Thread
Been banned from matchmaking for modding, cheating, boosting, being a jerk? Post about it and how it was your little brother's fault here. Other threads about this subject can be locked and posters may end up as residents in the official Bungie.net version of Banadu.

[i]Recently, we’ve seen a moderate influx of things appearing in File Shares that don’t belong there. Some this is just tweaked content from Halo 3 that has been uploaded in sundry and illegal fashions. In fewer cases, there have been a relatively small number of incidents of folks uploading inappropriate non-game content to the File Share.
[b]Fair warning: Users who have modified content on their File Share - regardless of who created said content - will be subjected to the full power of the Banhammer’s thrust. This includes some never-before-unleashed technology that will effectively terminate your Halo multiplayer experience online in every imaginable facet.[/b] In fact, the ban is so thorough that simply calling it the Banhammer is a complete understatement. I just couldn’t come up with a more hyper-exaggerated term that had the same feel. Banplatform? Banpocalpyse? Banmageddnon? None of those did the trick.[/i]
Punishments are metered.
Justice is served.
Why so harsh? Because ultimately, the potential blowback for something like Fileshare is pretty grand. The Fileshare is not to enable players to put up whatever they want and think it's hilarious, regardless of how harmful or harmless [i]you[/i] think it is.

Wow i really need some one to ban this trash talking, experience boostin jerk. He is so jerkish he bags people just to be funny and sends me and other people trash talking voice texts on how he powns me and my friends on every match he beats us on. He even boosts he told me, and thinks Bungie can't do a thing about it. And his name is TrueWashington. I dislike him. ALOT. We're talking about an EXP suspension, not a ban. Yes, your console gets a temporary EXP ban in Halo 3, but it does not affect other games you are playing. Having your console banned means that you cannot play LIVE games, and only Microsoft can do that. Sorry if my initial post was confusing.

A question, that only Bungie can answer. Do we get banned for [b]playing[/b] modded Forge Maps? Some parties of up to 16, would play these, [b]well designed/thought out[/b] maps forever... I recall an awesome map, even though it's simple to make, but impossible for us. Gametype: Infection, with 200% speed, 75% Gravity and Infinite Rockets. Map: On Sandtrap, Two elephants suspended, high up in the air, with teleporters holding it. Objective: Infect. Make the Elephants Fall with a Bombardment of Rockets lolz Are you [b]targeting the people who want to better their enjoyment[/b] by expanding the [b]potential of a Forge map[/b], by retrieving [b]objects from the Map itself[/b], be it [b]hidden or Inaccessible?[/b] Don't mention the Fileshare. This isnt any banhammer, this is an M n S banhammer. i dont know if you guys in america have marks and spencers but yeah... And to the guy who posted about lag, theyve said having a bad connection wont get you banned; as long as you dont manipulate it to standby everyone youll be fine. i understand why that would get you banned, but why for boosting xp and ranks and achievements etc. Im not calling the wahbulance but having a five star general that sucks is just laughable and everyone knows theyre a booster. Having a high rank shows they didnt get it themselves and if they play in ranked and get whooped they just help people trying to level up and achievements dont really show theyre good, loads of people will boost or game save so that dosent prove anything. Seriously... just look on MGC.net people already have 1750 on Halo. In my opinion, people should only be banned for honestly ruining matchmaking (standbying, modding etc., a high ranked rubbish player dosent ruin the game, just makes the player look rubbish, we payed our £40 / $60 or w/e so it shouldnt matter if people want to have a high rank that they dont deserve as long as they ruin online for anyone else. There, rant over. Sorry people but i had to post this to feel better after getting an exp ban. So again, sorry for being 'that guy' but yeah...

played this morning, got an exp ban, play this afternoon and iv had my console banned, i played about 6 games of squad battle today, your banhammer is a joke, u should be banning people that DDOS attack people not people that boost.

Correction, Your entire console gets banned from gaining EXP. Just a tad bit unfair in my honest opinion. But I'm not gonna cry.

ITs not just 2 weeks... ITS a month if your trying to get the 7 on the 7th achievement... sucks so so bad... and i cant get the lieutenant achievement.... and for the dude who posted above me, you can also get your whole xbox banned... my friend just got his account, i got 2 bans, my account, and my xbox system... and about the "trigger sensitivity" what if your in a game with one player with 3 guests, another with two, and they boost, and you just kill, and all these guests arnt playing and you get amazing medals, u think its possible to get banned?

Exactly. The least you can do is not change the name, The Most you can do is just NOT PUT IT ON YOUR FILE SHARE it seems like people purposely try to get themselves banned by putting inappropriate things. ya know even though Halo 3 is Rated M there is still kids who play it who's parents don't wan them seeing things Put on peoples file shares.... So Just keep it clean.
