Bungie.NEXT : Switch 101
If you were a user on the [url=http://halo.bungie.net]previous version of Bungie.net[/url] and would like to adapt your old working habits, you've come to the right place. This guide will explain what has been added, changed, and removed from the site. It is currently a work in progress so please feel free to correct any inaccurate information and provide feedback on how this guide can be improved. I do apologize in advance if your eyes bleed from the walls of text. When the beta is over, I will incorporate images and video so this guide is easier to follow.
Note: This is only 1 of 2 support guides. The [b]Bungie.NEXT Support 101[/b] guide has not been posted yet. The second guide will be geared toward users that are completely new to Bungie.net and did not use the old site (second guide will include website and Bungie game related FAQ as well as information on how to create an account, link/un-link authentication services, post on the forums, ect.). All of the individual messages from the old site were transferred over and grouped by user (conversation view). The subject lines were not transferred over. When you leave a conversation with one user, it will permanently delete your history with that user (only on your end). If messages are exchanged after that, it appears as a new conversation to you, but the other user sees it as a continued conversation because they didn't clear their history. When you leave a conversation with multiple users, a message is automatically sent from you that says [left conversation] and it will permanently delete your group conversation history (only on your end). At that point, those users can continue their group messaging, but you will no longer receive messages. If you start a new conversation with the same exact users, it opens a new window for them with a new conversation instead of continuing the same window (thus you can't re-join a group conversation window after leaving). If you attempt to message a user that has muted you, a message in red text says, "We're unable to send a message to this user(s)." If you message a muted user, that user can view the message, but cannot reply back; the user remains muted. Muting a user does not remove existing conversation history for you or the muted user. The web team will probably make changes (having the option to add a user to an existing conversation, ect.), but as of right now, that's how it works.
