Sometimes I think the person making the shaders is colorblind.
One thing I've learned is that each class accents different parts of the shaders colors. Some that look crappy on one look awesome on another. Sunsetting for example; looks great on Titans. Looks Just ok on warlocks.

also drastically changes with gear too. Glowhoo with crota raid gear on warlock looks terrible, with VoG gear you look like a luminescent beast!
