Congrats on the 1000/1000. Personally, I've had it since October, but I originally didn't get them fairly. I went into a Lone Wolves match, the people asked if we wanted to do achievements, and I said "Sure" and we did them. Since then, though, I can say with confidence that I have legitimately done each task again. I went so far as to go back and start driving a mongoose around the map again. So, my Katana is legit, but the date stamped on it is not.

I got my last achievement, Steppin' Razor, on July 10. I finally ventured back into Lone Wolves and got a Swords game two games in on Snowbound. I was so excited when I got it, I just put my controller down and let the game finish out. Before that, my last achievements were in the Legendary Brawl back in April when I got my Two for One and Mongoose Mowdown in the same game. Congrats to us all! Great read btw Grunty! Well stated. My overkill took forever and just when I gave up, it came in a Swords/ Epitaph match after two triple kills. Keep mashing that B button FTW! Also, it's in my fileshare along with my 2for1 and MNTB. My Marathon helmet be legitz, yo.

Considering you have 1400 games, this makes your statement all the more hypocritical. Now, my quest for the vaunted Overkill is finally, erm, over. Of course, I've had several in social slayer and a myriad in custom games, but one single "four kills in four seconds of each other" eluded me so in Lone Wolves. When I was in Lone Wolves, the skill levels hadn't entirely smoothed out, so while I am a decent player, I was pitted against legions of players simply better than I was. At this point I relied more on the Assault Rifle and Shotgun than the Battle Rifle or Sniper Rifle. Not a bad thing mind you, but I bring this statement to attract a sense of camaraderie among the players whom do find those two weapons more appealing than the former weapons. I was a competent player with competent reflexes, perhaps due the advantage I had by playing the Halo 3 Beta, perhaps not. But after a series of losses to strategically superior foes, I let my hopes and dreams of gaining the final Achievement go. Being your typical 15 year old gamer (maybe I shouldn't have said that. Wouldn't want Jack Thompson, the troll-under-the-bridge of gaming to come out and chastise or sue me.) , there are three basic things I like to do; hang out with friends, play games, or hanging out with friends while playing games. Playing every chance I got due to incessant boredom, I came across BR gametypes. Many BR gametypes. And the early rush of Shotty Snipers came at just the right moment-I was bridging my skills from relying on the Shotgun to relying on the Sniper Rifle. I was becoming more and more strategic, relying on baiting my enemies rather than rushing them headlong. These tactics helped me as I slowly rose through the ranks until I hit my current ceiling of 40. I don't mind being stuck at this junction, but being reminded of my lack of an Overkill in the coming months, I decided to limit my playing time of Halo 3. In this time, I played Halo 1, Halo 2, and a little game we all know as Ninja Gaiden Black. I've had a grand experience with the Modern Ninja, Ryu Hayabusa. Before he was known as such, I was investigating attacks on his Papa, Joe on the NES and SNES. Ninja Gaiden is anomaly of a game in that while it challenges me, it wasn't overtly cheap, like many difficult gamers. Going back to Ninja Gaiden Black, an action game that required lighting reflexes was just the game I needed to hone my hand-eye coordination again, or maybe not. I just really love Ninja Gaiden, and its challenges were much like the Overkill that haunted my Halo 3 experience. Difficult, but not cheap. After letting my skills flourish in Halo 3 and Ninja Gaiden, as well as Halo 1 and 2, I finally returned to Lone Wolves. A mere level 26 today, I was usually pitted against foes much weaker than I, save for the occasional Colonel or Brigadier mixed to test my merit. After gaining three triple kills over the course of several games, I felt my odds slipping further away. It was on Guardian, where just as I was about to kill the fourth man, he killed me with a grenade as I rained down lead from the precipice known as the Sniper Tower. My utter disappointment boiled until I regained my calm. It was until a few minutes later, that returning to my old staple, the Shotgun, that [i]another[/i] Triple Kill came my way. When my shields were down, I just barely turned around, in the Overshield room of Guardian, to remove another foe's existence with the Shotgun. "Overkill!" The announcer's chant rang like the most beautiful church bell, and I pulled through to victory, nearly snagging a Killing Frenzy, had it not been for the game's kill limit of 25. It took many months and the return of a former perennial, but now that I have the Achievement, I can finally set aside the ridicule and place myself with the rest of my friends, whom have had this loathsome little Achievement for the longest of times. (Well, my overkill is disputable, because the people I killed to get it had all agreed to help with achievements. All of my achievements were legit except Maybe Next Time Buddy as well. I just played w/ some freinds in social slayer. Overkill was actually one of my earlier ones, and i've gotten about 4 since- no offense to lukems, lol. Unfortunately a few of my medals weren't recognized. For example one extermination I got never popped up and isn't in the medals chest. This has also happened to me many times w/ kills when I don't get the point. Anyway my last MP achievement was 2 for one after I got frenzy on Snowbound w/ ghost. (I saved campaign ones till last besides Normal, Heroic, and Legendary.

I got one illegit achievement and it'll haunt me until the next generation of console. I did the language cheat with this one kid (10th grader, for God's sake--I was in 10th grade 8 years ago) and all I got out of it was Maybe Next Time, Buddy. I gave the guy about 3 hard-to-get achievements and all I got for my shame and treachery was MNTBuddy, which I could easily have gotten in an English--speaking game. As a fitting result, it appears in my achievements list in whatever foreign language I used, forever mocking me, my once-secret shame. Overkill is so difficult for me I've been trying to derank for two weeks. Two weeks of suicides and foolish staged lagging, but my rank never goes lower than 18. Your post gives hope to myself and hopefully other pathetic, poorly skilled yet devoted fans. Congratulations, sir.

Well, I got mine legibly on not such a legit timing.......I was in Avalanche and it was the Legendary Brawl thing going on. So we have these idiots trying to boost and they were all in this group. I had the "Splazzorz lol" and I couldn't resist. I got my two for one and my Overkill in one single shot.....would that count?? lol Then it was for the steppingh razor...................FINDING A SWORDS MATCH WAS IMPOSSIBLE FOR ME!!!! I don't play alot of lone, I was like level 8 and by the time I did get it, I was level 23. I finnally got it not too long ago on Guardian back in March/April

The Overkill was my last one too. Feels good to finally get it doesn't it Luke?!?!?!?

My last one was Marathon Man, I think, which seems fitting. It's like the end to a long journey. I only got it a month or two back. It felt sort of symbolic in a way. But I've still got quite a ways to go until I'm done with HALO 3. I'm not level 50 in anything yet, and then I have to get like 5K exp...

I will be honest, I got 3 or 4 achievments through language change but i wish i could go back and get them for real.
