I only opened one, and my version is the CE, and both discs are fine

I got mine last night and when I got home it was marked with a scratch. I know 2 others I played with last night had the same thing so I don't see how you call it fake!! [Edited on 09.25.2007 8:54 AM PDT]

Glad someone confirmed this as false, i ordered my CE copy from newegg.com. i was about to get pissed reading on other forums/websites how these people "claim" that this is real and makes the halo3 CE games unplayable. and how the hell these people get halo3 on sept 22nd? Earlier this morning at launch, I let the cashier know about the rumor and he took it very lightly. However, after opening four collector's edition cases, each one contained a loose disc that had been scratched in some way. He sold me my copy without inspecting it, I walked over to the counter and opened my game - it was majorly damaged. Thankfully, I got the manager to mix and match around three copies before I left the store with a mint condition game and bonus disc.

Here's some proof. I picked up my Collector's Edition at midnight. To be sure my copy was good, I opened it up IN THE STORE and found the game disc loose and scratched. I went up to the counter, and told them I needed a new one. The clerk grabbed a new one from behind the counter, shook it, and sure enough, the sounds of a loose disc came rattling out from even that one! He picked up another, shook it, handed it to me, and I went on my way. The loose disk news is not a lie, I advise you all to check before you buy a CE, that is, if you haven't already!

I opened my CE Halo 3 and the dude let us open another cuz the first was scratched. Second was scratched. I got Standard instead :)

Lol the topic creator here got seriously owned, it's widespread that almost all the CE discs are scratched or loose. Sony fanboys? lol, if anything this is an example of microsoft fanboys in denial

Sorry to say I wish it wasn't true, however I HAD a bad one with about 6 more we opened in the store. I had to create one good from the mix of the lot.

ok well if its fake then why when i opened my limited edition up the disc was freely moving inside the case. it has some scratches one it and they cause me to not be able to load the maps. i get a "disc could be dirty or damaged."

even if it does have scratches, blockbuster has a disc buffer that will make it shine like my freshly shaven balls. i've taken in 2 that have had the "halo scratch" from being knocked over while playing

Thanks dude. Its a shame these sony defense force guys are such sore losers. This whole biz of them showing up at launches to give away the ending will get them jacked up in st. louis. They better hope they don't come to my town, or I will make them choke on my useless never used psp. What a bunch of trolls.

I thank you for this post this was realy on my mind. I knew that all that damage would be hard to be done in the case alone but convincing myself was not enogh to believe it. So now i can feel a bit safer if i end up buying the Limited edition if any are still left in the store.
