Halo 2 Piracy
Last night a pirated copy of Halo 2 was released onto the internet. Needless to say we think this really sucks. Aside from years of hard work being stolen from us, we've gone to great lengths to ensure that the details of the Halo 2 campaign remain a mystery for players to experience for themselves on November 9th. Microsoft is currently engaged in a full scale investigation and to those foolish enough to partake in this piracy, you will soon witness the firepower of this fully operational battle station.
Members of the Bungie community - we need your help. The Underground Army is being called into action; this is not a drill. Anyone who has information regarding the leak of the game or individuals or websites promoting the download of these illegal files is asked to please contact us by sending email to [b]piracy@microsoft.com[/b] or calling 1-800-RULEGIT. We also ask that you help us minimize the spoilers for those opting to wait for the retail release by refraining from posting screens, talking about the story and deleting any such posts you encounter. Many of you have already been actively tracking down and forwarding links to us and we thank you for your help.

I tried to find whoever it was. I was on a slow computer and our internet was down. I can't believe some idiot would do that. I am a huge fan and would of done anything to get it legally but im not so desperate as to steal it. Im sorry I couldn't catch him, but, hey, I tried.

Bungie wouldnt have lost money anyway, look at all the people that preordered it, halo2 is most anticipated, and pre ordered game ever, i think even better than gta-sa. and if you wanted it, you dont goto sites, try kazaa or morpheous. they have it but what are the chances of them having a bad file in it? hmmm a pretty good chance. besides the french version is the same as the retail one. everything but the campaign at least.

Both Chaotic Aptitude and Math Ninja are dead on in what they are talking about. Not everyone has the same dang morals and those who do not believe in things such as the magical sky guy should not have those sort of thoughts jammed down their throat or into their minds. If they bought the game after doing their "bad deed", then Bungie lost an accumulative total of 0 dollars in any currency. There are also people who did not buy the game because they do not have the money and might not have it for a long time. Bungie also loses no money from these people since they would not get it anyway. My method of playing Halo2 was to wait for one of my friends to rent it and then play it way too far into the night last Saturday. To all of those who are fanboys here, did you actually pay for your copy of Windows(if you use Windows)? Do you also download anything else such as music? To those who answer yes then no to the previous questions, do you have the money for that sort of stuff? I think that the answers to my questions will follow the pattern: no | yes | no yes | no | yes no | no | yes yes | no | yes Most people with the money for things buy it and those without do not buy it. To be fair I shall also answer my three questions honestly. I use Linux | yes | no

I have to agree COMPLETELY with Chaotic Apathy. This guy knows what he's talking about. First of all, I want to thank you for saying that the leaked version is for XBOX. It was aggrevating to look at all these whiny -blam!-es talk about how they can't understand that it would be for PC. Dear God, has anyone ever heard of a Mod chip? Apparently you have (chaotic apathy) and I commend you for having the balls to shut these people up. Sure, when I first saw a pirated version for download, I was skeptical. That's why I downloaded it only to find it actually worked. I was thrilled to play the game before it came out and I rubbed it in all of my friends' faces. But, ya know what? I still bought Halo 2 and all of my friends did as well, so Bungie is not losing any support whatsoever. Sure, it's still stealing, but that's none of your Goddamn business because, ultimately, that sin is between me and Jesus, so get a life. There may be a few select people satisfied with their little French piracy, but if they want to play live or have any common decency or support for Bungie they'll buy the game, so I seriously doubt this is even an issue of discussion. It's not 3 years of work being stolen. It's 3 years of work being worshipped so much to the point that someone would BUY a copy even after they own one. If you (hypothetically) stole a TV, would you go back the next day and buy the exact same one from the same retailer? Odds are that you wouldn't. Why? because you already have one...no need for another.......(this is maybe a bad example , but you get the point.) Anyway, Bungie rules, so probably 99.9% of people who have the pirated version will buy the game regardless. Why? Because, like I said, Bungie rules, so I (we) support them. Also, who wants to hear some -blam!- French bull-blam!- when you could hear the Marines talk -blam!- to dead covenant and cry about being shot from live ones? In short, French is crap and Bungie rules, so all you retards that spend your short lives whining and complaining about piracy, get a life and come to terms with your own flaws and sins.
