Shadowrun Shenanigans
We chat with some of the developers of Shadowrun about their new game and the influence Halo had on it.

I think it looks fun. I mean, the different races should mix up the battle. I also like the aspect of spells, and casting them etc. The physics look good as well. It wont be Halo, but it should be a new fun addiction apart from GoW. -blake

It looks great But It still can't compare to counter strike. or the source games. It just wouldn't work. I mean it still looks fun to play but i disagree with what that one guy said that made the game.

yeah this is definitely a different kind of FPS - counterstrike on LSD. I'm also glad that it's coming out soon, so that we've got plenty of time to enjoy it before Halo 3 is released. Sketch is right - the bros over at FASA are cool.

This sounds great! I am personally bored to tears with FPS's ( I am sure the Halo3 Beta will be different however). Unfortunately with my 360 being repaired right now, I will not get to try it till pretty close to launch time for the Beta. [Edited on 05.10.2007 11:59 AM PDT]

this game seems to be exactly like the warcraft servers on counterstrike... teleport, see through walls, ressurect, jump super high, have loads of hp,and explode when you die (thats the warcraft servers on counter strike)

Dozens of MGS games have shipped without any mention on Bnet so please don't try and pull this "shill" card. There's a small degree of Halo heritage here and it's a game we've enjoyed and some members of our community might also enjoy. Let the title of the story be a warning to you - don't read it if you don't want to. But do please continue to -blam!- about how much you hate our news (that you still insist on reading). Does this game have a campaign or proper story line to explain all this mythical stuff?(which I never liked in games! I never liked fps games either until halo but anyway!). I'll check an see.

Shadowrun is an awesome game. I enjoyed the beta for the full 16 weeks it was out. FASA has done an awesome job at this game and the gameplay is really unique. The Dev team was awesome and even played a buttload of games with us in fact I even have a bunch of em on my friends list (more than bungie would do). It was an awesome experiance and im tottally gratful for it. This game is an experiance all its own and is going to be worth every penny once it comes out. This game is going to rock some peoples worlds. It will change your perspective on the average FPS multiplayer. Check out shadowrun.com and register and the devs and other beta testers like myself can answer any question you have unlike Halo 3 and the shroud of mystery.

awesome update, love the look of shadowrun, and from what some testers have told me, it is truely one of the best games ever made.

Doesn't anyone proofread those articles? I realize that a majority of the readers are still patiently awaiting puberty but has the pathetic language skills now penetrated the Bungie staff too? btw, I'll give the game a try. But apparently my "run-into-the-melee" tactic I employ with Halo may not work that well. Perhaps one of the magic spells will be a "Leroy Jenkins/berzerker mode"? One can only hope.

um... can u say "plug"? would bungie do this for a ps3 game... no. microsoft has a big hand in franky doing this. i garuntee (sp) he didnt elect to do this for the hell of it and he wasnt assigned to do it by bungie either.

The Shadowrun beta was pretty cool. I wish I'd had more opportunity to play it, but not many of my core group of friends were accepted, so I ended up not having much time for it. :( Ah, well. Halo 3 beta will be another matter, tho. ;) Shadowrun is a great game if you like frenetic gameplay. I'm not much of a "deathmatch" fan; I like more opportunity to take my time & sneak up on people, but Shadowrun's 2 beta maps were too small (kind of) for that. Not a bad game, tho.

Wait, so PC gamers and 360 gamers will be playing together? If so, that is dumb. PC keys/mouse will always be able to easily outclass a 360 controller.

Personally i think Shadowrun might be a really good competitor for Halo 3! But iv'e never played the beta sooo.... i can't really have a say in it.

The Beta is a lot of fun to play. Its basically with Counter-Strike with some magic. I'll most likely buy it when it comes out.
