James Rolfe a.k.a. The Angry Video Game Nerd has had his account terminated on youtube for violating terms of service, apparently. Check it out for yourself.
Opinions on youtube openly shutting down internet-celebrities? Surely he had to bring in some considerable revenue.

Nobody mind about Foman. He's still butthurt from all the Xbox hate.

ITT: People getting trolled by foman

Never heard of him. Clearly a minor C-list internet celebrity who thought he was more important than he actually was, violated YouTube's ToS, and got slapped in the ass for it. Good for YouTube and I will now exit this thread and forget about the entire issue.

Bump, fiends!
Posted by: x Foman123 x
Posted by: HaI0Fighter92 I dont see why he was terminated, he never uploaded a full movie or show, he just reviewed. So really the people who arr quick to say "he deserves it" is a hasty moron. There's nothing about lets plays and reviews to be breaking policy(though it almost happened). This was a very bad move on youtubes part.
Now, would that be more or less moronic than blindly defending the guy based on your own admission of having zero knowledge about why he was terminated?
Wouldn't that same logic apply for your earlier assertion in this thread? An assumption despite the lack of knowledge for who he was and why he was terminated?

Come on, it was, honestly, a pretty obvious joke. And with that, I'm outta here. [Edited on 01.08.2013 1:09 AM PST]
Posted by: theHurtfulTurkey If he put video of games on his channel, then he's violating copyright law. He made profit off of someone else's work. Citing them verbally doesn't mean anything.
HOLY CRAP YOU GUYS ARE A BUNCH OF MORONS! Earlier today SEGAs legal department went nuts and reported EVERYONE on Youtube that even mentioned, showed, played some game of theirs (S something 2, I forget). Sega then realized it was being retarded and withdrew any and all complaints and reports.
Posted by: MadMax888
Posted by: BenderIsKing I'm going to guess he had too many copyright notices on his videos and so they took him down, since YouTube (and copyright holders alike) don't seem to understand that "Fair Use" is a thing.
I'd wager that AVGN was getting ad money from his videos, which means that it doesn't fall under Fair Use. Want to use a song in your video? Contact the copyright holder. Artists have a right to be compensated for the work the produce.
Lol?
Section 107 contains a list of the various purposes for which the reproduction of a particular work may be considered fair, such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research.
See that? Criticism and commentary.

He's still up...

whats AVGN?
-
Thank god. He was terrible.
-
Yeah, this isn't the first time this has happened. Guarantee it'll be back up in a week.
-
Probably because of some pissed of parent that filed a complaint due to the amount of cuss words in his videos. That sucks but you can still watch his vids on his website.

Must've only been down for a few hours, since I can watch his videos and view the channel. There hasn't even been any official announcements about it on Cinemassacre, so I'm guessing it was a genuine error.
-
What a shame. Guess he will have to now get a real job.
-
ITT: People who don't know what sarcasm is. Foman was just saying that because he knows that's what most people will assume and say. Anyway, he will be missed. I honestly thought he was clever. Not funny, but clever.
You never saw Daz's thread about those targets, did you? On topic: I've never heard of him, at least that I can remember. What term(s) did he violate?
-
And his account is back and running again.
-
No, it hasn't.

SEGA is going nuts with instances of supposed "copyright infringement".

not sure how he violated any tos considering he did game reviews and such.

Only ever gears if him, never bothered to watch something.
