Would it be cool for those who link their gamertags to be able to use their current gamerpic as an avatar?
Posted by: CrazzySnipe55 IIRC, you don't even need a gold account to link your GT so it's just a longer, more arduous process for second-accounters, but it is possible to just continually make new accounts with custom avatars. Also, it's better if it's confined to employees, mods, former mods, and a select few others (the only other I know of is Mr Smiley).
I could've sworn that people with those xbox cameras who made gamerpics with them were only viewable by friends.

ouch ..right in the heart
Posted by: Cheeto666 the occasional floodtard would probably do it
The mods hide in their mountains, seeking riches. They care nothing for troubles of others.
Posted by: BerzerkCommando Even if they do the mods will take care of it.
I don't know if Bungie could implement that in with Bungie.next, but it is a good idea.
Posted by: Alfirin Don't you think members would craft pen0rs in forge and use them as avatars? Or worse.
Out of all the sites I been to that have custom avatars. Non of them had anything like that. Even if they do the mods will take care of it.

Not as many as you or others would think. Yes, the occasional floodtard would probably do it, but that's what we have mods for.
Posted by: Alfirin Don't you think members would craft pen0rs in forge and use them as avatars? Or worse.
That was my point.
Posted by: BerzerkCommando
Posted by: Cheeto666 Because adding is subtracting, yes?
Posted by: mvyorkie009
Posted by: BerzerkCommando We can already do that with coup.
i feel like that takes away from the site yorkie

How? If you're adding on to it you add on to it. What's ever there is still there. Let's like putting a Lego on top of a Lego. The original Lego is still there.

Posted by: mvyorkie009
Posted by: BerzerkCommando We can already do that with coup.
i feel like that takes away from the site yorkie
What exactly would it be taking away? The only thing it would take away are default avatars and the member status. Which are non important things. But it actually wouldn't take them away because they are still there. When you click on a persons name you see the default setup. Coup is good because it allows individuality. [Edited on 01.04.2013 12:14 PM PST]

I would like to use my RvB Church pic as my avatar.
-
People could easily abuse it but the real thing to consider is "would it be a problem?" I think most would follow the rules, a handful would tip toe the boundaries but overall Xbl costs money. The members sporting vs avatars would have their live accounts banned, I doubt enough trolls would do it for it to be a problem because of that.
Posted by: Sound Of Trance Mine's already awesome anyway. I'm fine. Besides... all dat hacking. Wouldn't work out.
I could see a lot of people taking pictures, saving them as their profile pic, and terrible things happening. Although it would be funny to see the mods/Acronos in a bit of discord over it.

I was hoping for actual user-submitted avatars. edit: or on second thought, maybe not. [Edited on 01.04.2013 4:22 AM PST]

I'm no tech, but wouldn't that lengthen page load times?
-
Maybe this will happen in bungie.next, who knows? I hope there's going to be lots of new avatars anyway.

My coup uses 180x180 and works out as well.

I support this idea.

Mine is boss, so I like this idea.
