No One Knows Anything!

It has recently come to my attention that barely anyone on Bungie.net knows ANYTHING about the Halo lore. For example, I was reading a post saying that the invasion of Reach was 'stopped' by 'Master Chief.' Number one, Reach was utterly destroyed and all life there was eradicated. And two, Sure, Master Chief managed to save Reach all the while in cryogenic sleep a few hundred-thousand kilometres away. People here really need to brush up on their Halo knowledge before trying to explain something they know nothing about. (people who know what they are talking about Halo lore wise, this post is not directed toward you).

 • I do understand this, I apologize that I have read your posts in such a way. But when someone is a royal bastard, I usually have a go at them without a second thought. I guess I understand the absolute frustation that comes with hearing absolutely Balls about the franchise from un-experienced mud-bloods (sorry for the Harry potter reference.

 • I have the title because I've been here ages; there's no other reason. I know I'm a royal bastard, you don't have to tell me. I usually refrain from insults and slurs, but I'm not going to put smiley faces in my posts to butter up what I'm saying. I'm sorry that you've read my posts as antagonistic, I don't mean them to be. I'm only posting here because I guess I'm passionate about the universe; I'm not here to pick fights - I try not to do that even in real life, so I'm not about to do it on something as ephemeral as the internet. And what else do you expect from the Reach forums? Even before the game released, it was a despot of idiocy - people who thought Noble Six was Master Chief in disguise, people who blatantly denied the obvious that we would play as Spartan IIIs even when all the evidence screamed that we would. And fair enough I suppose, it's not a forum for canon discussion. Many play Halo for the gameplay alone and never touch the campaign, and that's cool - it's a fun multiplayer. Like I said, this is the forum for canon discussion. Trust me, I'm a Fabled Legendary Member. I didn't get that title by doing nothing. Oh wait, I did.

 •
Posted by: Wolverfrog Actually, no. Discussion of the Halo story is for this forum. Whilst it's true Bungie's no longer the proprietor of the franchise, they're still the original author of the universe and so anything in that universe is to be discussed in the Bungie Universe forum. It's not against the rules to post about 343i's Halo story in the Flood, but this is the proper place to do so and the place where you're most likely to get learned replies.
All I'm hearing is "blah blah blah, stuff we already know about the franchise, blah blah." Mate, we all know that Bungie dont make no Halo no more. We dont need it spelled out for us. I'm trying very hard not to start an offensive rant, but seriously. When you start coming onto threads and being rude, then presenting your knowledge of the topic, you begin to tick people off. But if you were nice about it, and actually showed your knowledge of the franchise respectfully without putting others down, (and dont say your not, I've been on multiple threads where you have done this.) people will start to respect your FOR your knowledge, and not dislike you for your rudeness. Then everyone will see why Wolverfrog is a Fabled Legendary Member, and not wonder why you have the title. Just some friendsly advice :).

In the bungie universe halo cannon is usually true. but in the flood its not all the time.
They made a thread on the flood asking if they read any Halo books, More than 60% said none
Oh God, you mean 60% of people in the Flood haven't been exposed to the unparalleled literary brilliance of the Halo books? Ninteen-Eighty-When? What do you mean, you caught a '22'? How can an Atlas 'shrug'? You haven't read about a gun firing, and an alien being killed by the firing gun and then more explosions. You're not worthy of my time!
Thats not what im saying, what i am saying is that you cant really have a good discussion about lore in the flood because most users there don't go deeper into the lore, that could be said to any other Game Mass Effect, Star wars, Tom Clancy ETC... you cant get a good story disscussion on the flood and that anoys me as it was suposed to be the place where those things are discusssed.

They called in their Warrior Angel allies (why else would there be Halo's... duh) who then made the Covenant Armada submit to them with their crafty use of foul sign language and thinly-veiled threats of TP'ing their Battle Cruisers. My gods, read a book... ;)
No no no....your right except that it wasn't refugees from Kobol, but the Lords of Kobol.
Uggh... Sheesh it's been a while since I've cross-referenced the books with the manga graphic novels... You're absolutely correct. It was the Lords of Kobol, and if I remember correctly, weren't they riding Unicorns? Or was it Quadricorns that fart rainbows? I just can't remember...

 •
Posted by: HipiO7 When you say Bungie.net, I assume you mean the Flood? You won't get that type of stuff on here, I assure you. Plus I'm sure you were being trolled.
Honestly I would post random but still interesting topics in The Flood but it seems too vulgar as well as unorganized. I expected as much from a forum like that, none the less I post in the BUNGIE UNIVERSE Forum because I like the concept of discussing Halo related content as well as people actually present themselves in a professional or at least mature manner.

 •
Posted by: chills pills
Posted by: Wolverfrog
Posted by: Ghost 4119 Number one, Reach was utterly destroyed and all life there was eradicated.
No, the human population there was culled and some areas of the planet were 'glassed.' The planet survived and so did the wildlife on it, to the extent that it was reinhabited by 2589. Sounds like you need to brush up on lore yourself.
What book was this stated in? I mean the part where reach was renhabited.
The eulogy Halsey delivers at the end of Reach shows spacecraft and a structure in the background, and she talks about how 'we can rebuild.' The fact that the planet isn't glasslands shows it was terraformed. [Edited on 10.02.2012 1:23 AM PDT]

 • I myself and many others in the Universe, are fully aware that red and blue teams, as well as all other available spartan 2's aside from a few that have been retconned in were the only Spartans that fought on Reach. Chief fought a small fight on a ship repair yard in space to take out a nav comp. Also all of reach was glassed aside from a small square of land.
