Does Phoenix have to do with Bungie's next game?

I did some research and [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phoenix_(video_game)]this [/url] is all I can find on a game named Phoenix. Nothing xbox related(Besides a port to the original xbox back in 2005). So something is obviously up.

I'd say that most likely possibility is that Phoenix is the internal code name for the the Destiny alpha, in the same way that Pimps at sea was used as the code name for Halo 3. Phoenix itself was supposedly cancelled a while ago because it was "fun for about five minutes." Perhaps a few ideas might have been salvaged, but we don't know enough about what phoenix in it's original state to make further conjectures.

Not sure if it's been said. But in one of the Podcasts it was mentioned that every Halo game was code named Phoenix at one time or the other during Dev. Looks like they're just using the code again.

It has been confirmed for awhile that the muscular/skeletal structures of the characters in bungies new IP are much much larger than average beings. The devs at Bungie nicknamed the project "pheonix", as in Marcus Pheonix from gears of war, because of the characters large stature. I thought this was old news, I guess not. OP, if you are DeeJ friend on XBL, then you should be able to compare games played. To which, he was probably playing an arcadey game called pheonix (the one you linked).
