we are on a gameing forum without a game.
Something has only now just struck me.
Although we have been in the dark for over a year there are still a huge number of people that frequent this forum. I suddenly realized that I come here every day to a video game forum that has no video game to talk about. So does everyone else....
and I'm not the slightest bit bored here.
I'm also not even waiting for their next game.
I could even live with it if they didn't I know that sounds a bit odd. I come here for the people. Not the new join trolls and the vs threads. But the legend's and the mythic's. the people that i have listened to and argued with on every subject under the sun. I come back because I like you guys.
Bungie went and they did a magical thing. They built a community with a game, then they stopped making the games ( for now) and their community stayed together. over 365 days and we are still going.
So i guess the question is what really keeps you here
The promise of a new game?
the love of bungie?
private groups?
Or is it the 7th column itself?

This is the first time I logged in since, I think, the official hand-off of Halo to 343 Industries. OP is right in a way; we're a gaming community whose game has been handed over to someone else. All that's left here is, really, dust and echoes as far as that goes. Ghosts of IPs past in the walls. I know it's old, but I just [i]finally[/i] found out about and watched their huge ViDoc and thought I'd pop back and look around. I want to be here when Destiny becomes more than rumor and speculation because it's gonna be awesome.

Holy crap it's been a year in the dark? Wow... That's crazy. Amazing how life just passes by. I haven't stopped by in a while though so it makes sense but still. So much has happened. So much more will happen. I'm glad we have a great group of people to fall back on while Bungie is doing their thing.

A very large majority are, yes. Some groups I have been in are just as ever changing when I hit F5 as The Flood is. On top of that, I prefer the moderation there. The people are generally more relaxed, and discussion is more hilarious. Just an opinion though. I personally have always preferred private groups over the mains. Just have to find the right group(s).

It's nice how the Community is still active even though there's the Darkness. Just shows the level of dedication the fans have towards Bungie.

Bungie is working in a brand new universe, if you want a game with great quality, design, and awesome story telling, you're gonna have to wait because it takes time and effort, sit down and wait it will be here next year.
