I have never ever been to Gamestop in my life...
is it as bad as they say flood?

I went for the first time a couple days back and didn't have any problems at all.

I've never really had much of a problem with any GameStop I've been to. I don't feel I've ever been ripped off on a trade in, and I've never been screwed over on preorders. The staff in mine is really friendly as well. The only other place near my house to buy games is WalMart, and they don't have anywhere near the game selection or customer service. I guess it all depends on the location in question, really. Some are good, some less so. Kind of like McDonald's if you think about it. [Edited on 07.29.2012 4:43 PM PDT]

You've missed out on mediocre sales and, from my experience, and from my experience, questionable staff. They pretty much ruin the gaming industry by abusing pre-sale exclusives and create a system of sales that brings next to no revenue to the game developer.

The only thing I don't like is how little they give for used games. Then how much they charge for them even months after the game has been out.

If you go there only to buy new releases, then it's alright.

I've only been to it a few times, myself. Just a bunch of games lined up on the walls.

New games, go there to your heart's content. Old games/selling stuff, you're best off finding a small franchise or similar (here in the Midwest we have disc replay). Sold some really crappy 360 and Wii games there, got 50 bucks for the 9 of them. Beforehand I went into the Gamestop next door just to check and they would've given me about 15.

It's generally a crappy place for gamers to shop, unless you used to work there and are semi-friends with the people who still do. EDIT: Also, the one in my town is alright. The prices are still wonky, but the clerks are pretty helpful. [Edited on 07.29.2012 4:31 PM PDT]

Yeah, it's bad. Two people work the counter, and they have to get the game out for you. They only have a select few games on display, and most of them are used. They have hardly in hardware on display, and much of that is used. Best Buy, pls

Not really. I don't know why a lot of people on The Flood give Gamestop such a bad rep. Everytime I go to one the employees are nice and helpful and like to make small talk. :)

I have about 30 Xbox 360 games I want to trade in. All in good condition. Some relatively new. They probably give me $50 at most. Yeah, they're pretty bad.
